Following many health issues which I believe were caused by Amalgam fillings, I had them extracted and replaced finishing around 3 weeks ago. I was put on a detox protocol to help remove the mercury and other heavy metals from my body.
In this time, I have been experiencing some new symptoms. These include:
My insomnia has worsened
I feel a sensation like someone is running an electric current through my scalp and brain - a tingling, crawling feeling
Sudden attacks of depression
I am just curious to know if anyone else who has had their fillings out went through some symptoms like these, and how bad they were.
I've been having the same problems with insomnia and depression. And I did have an episode of buzzing in my head the other day. I had my Amalgams removed last month and since then, I've been dumping a lot of mercury, especially from my brain. I've also been having crazy mood swings, too...not bad enough to check into a loony bin, but worse than I had before my removal. What type of detox protocol are you on?
I am on chlorella, selenium solution, fish oil, and a product called De-Mer-Tox, which contains mostly N-Acetyl Cysteine and sulfur compounds. Later on comes things like coriander (cilantro for the US), ALA, etc.

TK--- Glutathione is not effective when taken oraly, it is destroyed in the stomach.
N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine 500 mg.
TK--- Sulfer mobilizes Hg without chelating it, this increases damage and symptoms. You should check plasma cysteine before using NAC or start with a much smaller amount as it can cause terrible reactions if you don't tollerate sulfer, need it or can metabolize it properly..
Dietary Sulfur 500 mg.
TK--- More sulfer - your problems may be from all the sulfer you are taking and not a detox reaction. Chlorella is also a high sulfer food.
L-Glutathione is one of the body’s most important and powerful antioxidants. A major function of vitamin C is to keep L-glutathione, L-cysteine, and N-acetyl-cysteine in reduced form so that they can continue to have their powerful free radical quenching effects. L-Glutathione (gamma-L-glutamyl-L-cysteinyl-glycine) is a peptide (short protein)-like molecule synthesized in the body from the three amino acids L-glutamic acid, L-cysteine, and glycine.
L-cysteine is a conditionally essential amino acid, one of only three sulfur-containing amino acids, the others being taurine (which can be produced from L-cysteine) and L-methionine from which L-cysteine can be produced in the body by a multi-step process. L-cysteine can act as an antioxidant, may prevent liver diseases, and can help to thicken the individual diameters of existing hair if taken regularly.
N-acetyl-cysteine is the acetylated form of L-cysteine which is more efficiently absorbed and used. It is also an antioxidant that is helpful against viruses. N-acetyl-cysteine has been used as a liver protectant and to break up pulmonary and bronchial mucus. N-acetyl-cysteine can boost glutathione levels in cells.
Even though many published studies show that garlic, selenium, alpha-lipoic acid, L-cysteine and N-acetyl-cysteine can boost cellular glutathione levels, people with health problems may benefit from taking high doses of glutamine. Those with cataracts or liver disease may want to take 500 mg a day of this very potent antioxidant.
Caution:
When taking L-cysteine, N-acetyl-cysteine, or glutathione, it is recommended that three times as much vitamin C should be taken at the same time to prevent these amino acids from being oxidized in the body.
While symptoms are typically exarcebated after mercury removal (due to a temporary mercury increase in the system) its important to know if all the mercury has been removed. Do you have crowns? Its possible that mercury fillings can be left out underneath these and chelating will make things worse as it keeps pulling the stationary mercury into the blood.
Also, and I don't know if chelation protocols adress this, its important to have other metals removed as well; metals like palladium and nickel are typically found in crowns; these should be removed prior to chelation because chelating agents can interact with these.
Of course, its critical to have your elimination pathways up to speed, special bowels and kidneys as to not reabsorb the toxins.
Also (and this is typically shadowed by the mercury dangers) root canals NEED to be addressed as they can be (and most often are) more dangerous then having amalgams.

Hi.
I was just surfing the internet to solve my problems of detoxification and reaserarches to post on my blog "Vita al mercurio".
I dont't know how have I arrived here, but reading I've thought: "This is me".
Many similar symphtoms and more... but the electrical feeling I had was in legs and mostly behind my knees.
I'm trying to assume omeopathic mercury, "Mercurio solubilis".
It's incredible, people says "it's water", but it's not! I can't take one dose but neither half, because I feel too bad!
Now I'm trying with 1 dose in 14 days, a little bit everyday, and it's not easy anyway...
