Good evening doctor, I do have a real problem which annoys me all the time. I had a foresabs delivery last august and i lost 1.8 litres of blood ,the doctors suggest blood transfusion because my iron level was 7, but I refused and kept on taking iron tablets.THe problem is i still feel some symptoms like dizziness, coldness,breathlessness and I get tired with any efforts. I went to my GP and the doc asked for CBC and Ferritin. the hemoglobin was 14 and ferrtin was 79, but the doc didn't ask for serum iron or Tibc and he said that ferritin is the same as serum iron. the problem is that i still have the same symbtons and it getting worse especially the chest pain and my hair loss. The ques is , is the ferritin really the same as serum iron or not? because I don't belive or trust the doc as I still have the same symptoms and I can't join my life.
