I don't at all want to discourage you from your water fasting, but have you considered adding some juice, even if it is just one glass per day? I personally did a 7 day water fast and just found it SO hard to live normal life while doing it...taking food completely out of the picture for that long was so hard on me. I too had planned to go at least 30 days. Anyways, every situation is different for everyone but I have read numerous articles on the benefits of juice fasting- providing instantaneous nutrients and vitamins to your body with no digestion required and barely any calories! You lose about the same weight on a juice fast as with pure water, however it is easier to keep off (unless you go back to the SAD diet). Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that juicing is definately an option, even if you just use it on days that you feel very weak or the detox symptoms are too strong. Juice can ease the detox symptoms and make it possible for you to complete a 40 day fast, even if you do use some juice! It is still equally, if not a little more (in my opinion) beneficial to you!! And by juie, i mean freshly squeezed juice from a juicer!

Good luck and I'm sure you can do it!! I too am doing a 30 day fast, I however drink about 3-4 Cups of juice a day along with lots of water and tea.

Do keep on with your blog- I find it very helpful to me! I love thinking about during the day how good it feels to come to the computer and write about another day that I have successfuly accomplished!
