I’ve been working on my first novel using the ”novel in thirty days” format. I started it while I was in school at the end of the semester. Really it came out of a need to contribute something to the world and also deep job dissatisfaction.
Every day I read from al anon One Day At a Time and spiritual books. I’m also in the midst of Sophie’s Choice. I broke my kindle reader so I finally bought a kindle fire HD for my xmas gift and also getting on the dean’s list.
It’s snowing and cold up here. I’d like to ... read more

- recovering energy in the midst of lyme disease
Here’s a video from my recent walk... I’ve not done much in the way of riding this summer. I thought it was job stress and about two months or so ago, I noticed an odd rash on my groin that I thought was JOCK ITCH. YUCK. I don’t know when I was bit, prolly on a bike ride about two weeks before this rash showed up. I believe that I’ve had lyme disease for a while and had some atypical symptoms, like the constipation, etc. This whole time I was struggling with fatigue, depression, etc. UGH... So anyway, I’m on doxycycline twice a day for a month and am now starting to feel better.

The original Emerson’s Coffee Bike that was in all my videos was stolen off my front porch. It was a Cannondale hybrid that was nice on the road and nice on smooth bike trails. :sniff:
I have my backup bike I call bicicleta del camino de la muerta. This bike can be a coffee bike forrealz because it has a rack LOL. I’ve made a few trips with my gym sack and lunch lashed to the back of it already.
This weekend I rode almost 25 miles in one day. I sort of OVERDOSED on gorgeous weather. No I really overdid it LOL and my right tensor fasciae agrees hehe. Wheeeeeeee aren’t you glad warm we ... read more

My husband bought me a new laptop when my netbook shat the bed. I’m so blessed to live in the land of opportunity where you can buy laptops for under $400. I was going to the library and ready to go there for a while but he insisted. Who am I to argue?
Anyway, winter decided to show up. I went out for a few walks but no cycling. I’ve taken to using the spinbike at the gym. I miss bike riding and meandering about during the summer and fall. I was getting a little depressed for a minute and sensed winter blues sinking its fangs into me. The spinbike does wonders especially if I can perch ... read more

Actually it’s a hurricane. I’m watching Hurricane Irene coverage on Weather Channel. It’s like a comic con for meterologists with how excited they are. It might seem really negative to some. It’s their profession and it’s a major storm event. I told my husband I’m not praying for it move. The last time there were mass prayers for a hurricane to move and we ended up with Katrina LOL.
I guess this guy standing on the beach standing right next to the water thinks he has balls of steel. The sound quality is really poor and they’re showing a pic of this house’s shingles flying up. Not good.

Tonight was a quick ride home. I was motivated to get home and get to bed early. Plus I left my spare change in my desk so no hangout money for the gas station. Anyhow, I’ve experimented with going to bed hungry and... IT STINKS. I wake up in the middle of the night with low blood sugar. When I wake up in the morning, I’m VERY hungry.

The heat was FIERCE today. 16.7 miles seems so long in 93 degree heat. Then again, I did wearing an old gym tee shirt, long pants and wearing my marathon goodie bag on my back. I’m soooo glad I froze a half gallon jug of water...an empty juice jug from work LOL The ten miles to my rest stop are getting easier and easier and I no longer need an extended rest break at the half way point.

I was feeling a little crazed, almost like ’summit fever’ so I started using my gold’s gym bike. It’s from Big Boxmart and it does the job. I rode it tonight while watching Biggest Loser. Depending on the weather I’ll ride it in the morning. The itch to ride was too great.
I brought the mountain bike with the broken seat inside. Finally. Soon as things warm up a little bit, I’ll take it to the bike shop and let it some love. Same for the commuter bike.

What I learned from two months of bicycle commuting:
1. God is right. Those who don’t work don’t eat. Also, the admonitions against laziness in the Bible are legion and to the point. Also, one of the sins that doomed Sodom was laziness. Sometimes I found myself lamenting that I had to ride my bicycle to work. Also, more than that, I didn’t want to ride my bicycle to the grocery store that was up over two big hills with no shoulder and lots of traffic, trucks and pickup trucks. If I didn’t overcome inertia, I really would not eat. My garden was on the tailend of the growing season so I w ... read more

I wonder how long it will take me to pedal to New York!!! My mother called and had a hook up for a weekend job. I can make in one weekend what I make in one week at the nursing home. I would have to invest in a NY license and get a very gas efficient car to make it worth it. I’m still riding my bicycle, riding right into fall folks. This morning I rode to mass. Later I will ride to the gym too. When my sister comes to visit, she’ll help me fix up the yoga room and tape the windows shut.

Just left my side hustle and now I’m at the library doing some constructive research on the Internet and general surfing.
Just bought an ebook from The Garden Diet called ’raw cop’. I thought I’d learn something new but not really. Cops and nurses lead similar lives apparently and this guy is doing a lot of the same things I’m doing. The price for the ebook is 9.95 and it’s 11 pages which is lame especially when I’m on a budget. The other garden diet ebooks are pretty good. Maybe I ought to be start writing and publishing myself! To be EIGHTEEN AGAIN isn’t that what a lot of people say when they’ve not lived their life the way they want?

My sister gave me a copy of Blue Zones over the weekend. It is a fantastic book! When I am done reading it, I’ll post my review. Just the other day I got a vision of the brand for Emerson’s Coffee House and Yoga Club. It may actually go beyond the walls of my house in the next year or so. Real estate is so cheap here and there’s nothing to do in the town. The churches have great success with bible reading coffeehouse types stuff.
