a short "trial" water fast to get myself cleansed/prepared and more aware of what to expect. who knows, maybe i'll keep going!

hey there! so i've decided that i'm going to go on a short 3 or 4 day water fast just to see how my body reacts/what challenges i'm going to face, etc. i think this will help me be more prepared for the longer fast i am hoping to go on soon. i also think that, if at the end of the "trial period" i'm feeling pretty good/motivated and healthy enough to continue, i'll keep going. i also think it would be good for right now because i haven't been doing the healthy things you should leading up to a fast (e.g. switching to more natural, raw/whole foods). on the contrary, i've been letting my eating demons get to me and overeating way, way too much and too frequently. i feel bloated and know i've gained weight in a rather short period of time. so time to detox and also prepare myself for the more extensive fast ahead of me. i'll keep you all posted! also, does anyone out there have any suggestions for how to make the first few days go more smoothly/easily? i've heard that the first 3 or 4 days are the hardest, but that if you can get through them, it gets much easier. i'd appreciate any tips/ideas you might have, as well as your sharing of personal experiences.
