"Raw Milk Dairy Farming Tells the Story of Farming Best
In Terms of What Would Be Lost"

"S 510 is the corporate effort on a national level to get rid of raw milk (and the farmers producing it) by corporate dairies now demanding pasteurization regulations being inserted in it as a food safety measure. ...
At the state level, corporate lobbyists will pull back but then return with more later on, including pressure (of all kinds) to remove honest state officials who are not in their pocket. (Read Corrupt to the Core by Shiv Chopra to see how food safety apparatus in Canada was fully dismantled by corporate corruption). ...
... it would be important to push for the state's active help in bringing back local farming ... now, and with the public strongly behind that.
In some ways, raw milk dairy farming tells the story of farming best in terms of what would be lost. It is easier to identify with a farmer and his wife and children and their cow than with rows of spinach (or even with cattle), so the spinach producers (and cattlemen) need to get behind this fight because raw milk is an excellent poster child for corporate abuse. It's Old MacDonald being lost. It's a very moving and graspable story of local food and innocent people producing traditional food people (increasingly) want.
If through raw milk dairy farming, the public starts to understand the international corporate drive to get rid of local farming and monopolize industrialize food completely, that understanding will be beneficial to spinach farmers and cattlemen as well. ...
the story of its bacteria's importance and safety hasn't been told yet. The public needs help to understand the science of bacteria and the difference between good bacteria and the industrially-caused pathogens they can avoid by buying local fresh food.
Then they won't be fooled into buying 'food safety' that isn't and will reject irradiation of food, GMOs, and antibiotics and the rest as a threat to food - seeing at what level vital things are being destroyed. Saving raw milk, organic spinach, grass fed cattle, is actually a battle to save good bacteria. http://foodfreedom.wordpress.com/2009/07/24/the-battle-over-bacteria/
The hope is that in putting together an active national public that fights to protect raw milk, what will come from that is a public now ready to fight for all our farmers. It needs to be unified in order for the public to more easily understand what the corporations have been doing across the board."
From a response to a letter to the Editor of the Black Hills Today News service by Lila Streff and the Streff Ridge Farm Goat Dairy in Custer South Dakota – Black Hills territory:
"Raw milk is the key to the health crisis, the farm crisis, the economic crisis, the small town crisis, even the environmental crisis, the political crisis and the educational crisis. Farmers who could freely advertise and sell raw milk and its products, and fresh quality meats, free of government intervention and hassles, could prosper, and their communities could blossom. The restoration of our individual and national health could become reality."
Imagine that! By growing our own food (as we have a sovereign Right to and as we have traditionally) and our good food will bless us not only with good health but with prosperity as well!
If you have read the earlier posts then you know the connection between raw pasture-fed milk and good health vs the paradigm and history of homogenized, pasteurized dairy. You also may know that the raw milk movement emphasizes supporting your local family farm and by doing this you are supporting your local economy. The connection between "the small town crisis" and the loss of family farms although not covered in these blogs has been known over the recent decades. (See "The Real Diet on Farmer John".) The loss of traditional family farming and it's connection with the environmental crisis has also been known for decades. "The political crisis" has influenced all the other crises and especially "the educational crisis". A monumental loss in "the educational crisis" is that the federal government has essentially redressed itself as a centralized national government without regard to the Constitutional limitations. The truth is that Congress only has exclusive legislative power over it's district as described in the Constitution. That is not taught in the government schools. Without this essential understanding people, including farmers, are left to think that whatever Congress says is the Law of the Land. It just ain't so.
