day 1 - after the cleanse
Date: 3/22/2012 10:00:02 AM ( 14 mon ) ... viewed 322 times All day yesterday I was planning to end the cleanse but at night changed my mind and decided to continue for another week. This morning I still had every intention to continue but it just didn't feel right. The temperature in my room was 80 degrees and I was wearing a sweater and my microfleece bathrobe on top and still freezing. Plus I was very weak and wondering if I shouldn't spend the whole day in bed. I had done the SWF already and consumed quite a bit of lemonade but had strong cravings for fruit. After an hour of just lying in bed with the lights off I decided that my body is telling me - enough. I got up and made a green smoothie which I'm now sipping. It has a nectarine, mango, berries, grapefruit, banana, spinach, lettuce, celery, carrots and green powder. It's icecold since much of the fruit was frozen, but I'm no longer cold. I'm so glad I stopped.
I cleansed for 14 days. I followed the cleanse exactly with a couple alterations on day 1. I used miralax, 1 ate a few bites of coconutmeat and drank juice of one whole coconut and I took an ibuprofen. From day 2 on there were no more alterations since the cane juice version is the original version as described in Stanley B. book. I lost 13.5 pounds and now, after finishing a glass of smoothie, I feel wonderful. However throughout these two weeks my tongue never got fuzzy as it would on the maple syrup version during previous cleanses. Until this morning I also did not experience congestion or runny nose. My boyfriend said that only once did he notice bad breath and I only had one skin breakout. During previous cleanses I didn't have to ask anyone how my breath smelled; I could smell it myself.
Well regardless, I'm happy that I did the cleanse and I'm happy that I'm now off it. My motivation this time was not to cleanse but to regain control over my overeating and it accomplished that. Of course there's no proof until I start eating regularly again but I feel confident and I will continue writing this blog if for no other reason than to hold myself accountable.
For today I'll just be drinking green smoothie and the lemonade mix strongly diluted. I still have 9 bottles left and I doubt they'll survive (even though frozen) until my next cleanse. Tomorrow I'll probably start eating fruit and Sunday will be a challenge because I'm going to a birthday party.
