the thrill of victory...or the agony of defeat...?

There's one weigh in left to go in the weight loss challenge at work. Three participants so far, including my self are leading the pack. The “pack” is a group of six people. Y'all know I slacked up and became scattered in my focus; thus slowing my progress. My lead was much wider before then it is now, but like the Olympics – you never know what will happen – and it’s not over till it’s over. For example; the one male of our group had quite a lead, but then he slacked off for a while. Now, in the last two weeks, he is attempting to come from behind and retake the lead. He’s on the Atkins induction phase. Only time will tell if he can win, but he’s dropped six lbs. and edged back up to the # 3 spot in only a week.
I’m glad there’s only eight more days left to go, because that means I have a relatively short time period to focus and see where I end up. My weight has been holding steady with fluctuations between 1-2 lbs, generally. The skating for exercise plan has not met my expectations, so I’ve been researching other alternatives…There’s my old standby – walking – so I joined Planet Fitness. It’s a clean cheap gym with lots of cardio machines. I also decided to try yoga again. My first time several years ago, I fell asleep and ended up snoring (so I was told) when we were supposed to be meditating. The next time was Bikram hot yoga. I made it through a couple of classes, and felt great afterwards~ but that heat…maybe if they would turn the temperature down to say - eighty degrees, I‘d sign up - but for now, I’ve joined a Vinyasa basics class. I took one class so far and sweat like a pig, so I like that. I don’t do the prayers; thankfully there aren’t that many since I’m in it strictly for the physical benefits. With time winding up, I figure after I cut calories, the only other thing to do is increase my physical activity. So in the spirit of healthy competition, I’m biting the bullet and plan to live on the master cleanse w/ molasses and superfood w/ water, cardio and yoga for this short period of time. After all the eating I've been doing, my metabolism should be in good enough shape to withstand eight days of very low calories. Actually it won't be eight total days. The last weigh in is early in the a.m. I hope to lose enough body fat to win the challenge…after that, I plan on doing something every day, like yoga and/or cardio. After all this time, It's finally sinking in – diet & exercise as a lifestyle/habit. Of course I’ll let you know who wins…I hope it is me…yoga class isn't cheap ya know...
