Day 12: Skip Days for Ivermectin by HappyRaptor .....

Day 11 of ICU strongyloides protocol.

Date:   2/13/2014 9:11:24 AM ( 10 y ago)

Today and tomorrow are break days for Ivermectin, which is good, because sometimes I have to stay up very late at night to wait two hours after the fatty meal so I can take it on an empty stomach. Timing the food intake has been a challenge.

Last night, I had to take Naproxen because of the intense shooting pains in my left knee and the biting shooting pains in my gut. The biting pain was unusual, because it didn't move like something that had been dislodged and was trying to grab hold. It feel like something was trying to bore its way out, which it well may have been, depending on what it was. Nothing spectacular passed out of me, though I did notice that some foods (like apple) are not being digested at all, just passing right through whole, skin and all. I must start chewing better.

Still a few shooting pains in my right temple, but no more squigglies in my right eye. There was pain yesterday in my left shoulder blade, like I had pulled a muscle, so I'm thinking maybe muscle cysts being attacked and killed? I got odd little twinges here and there when they worms die, I guess, but the pain is mostly concentrated around my joints. I've always known they congregate around my joints. I think they drink the joint fluid.

The 40g of fat in the morning is a real problem for me. I don't generally eat breakfast, because my body hates eating before 11 a.m. Eating fatty foods early in the morning induces gagging and coughing and fighting the urge to throw it all up. Plus, since I have to take the doses about 12 hours apart, it makes it even harder, since I can't eat before 8, and then have to eat again at 8 p.m. I usually don't eat after 7, so I'm going to be gaining weight from all this fatty foods at night. I'm trying to eat healthy fats at night, like nuts and such. I'm also a grazer, eat small bits throughout the day, so eating anything more than a few bites at a time is difficult. My mother had the same problem, so it's probably hereditary. I am just struggling with all this fat eating, as my diet normally consists of raw and fresh fruits and veggies with very little fat.

I honestly do not eat a lot, so having to eat a large (for me) meal of 2 fried eggs and a piece of cheese toast, yogurt and milk in the morning pretty much keeps me from being hungry all day, so my fresh veggies are going bad. I'm going to have to cook and freeze them all.

The eating part seems to be the worst part of this Albendazole protocol so far. I have not seen much different in my poop, so maybe I don't have ascaris or tapeworm after all. Since the apple is not being digested, I can assume they would not be either, and would come out at least in recognizable chunks. We'll see as time goes on. I have been eating a lot of fresh pineapple and papaya in the last few months, so maybe all the tapeworms are dead.

Well, off to work. Will update if anything interesting happens.
