Keeping a Foot in Both Worlds by greggechols .....

Holding a thought can be a little more work than anticipated at times--at least for me. I'll try to hold one long enough to share these thoughts.

Is it really a good idea to “hold” a thought?  Is it physically possible?  Do you need special equipment to “hold” a thought?  Can anybody do it?

I was thinking earlier about the idea “I’ll hold that thought,” and I realize:  for me, right now, in this space that I am—no, that’s not a good idea.  If I “hold that thought” I will be floating off into some unknown, distant terrain.

It’s like that for me right now.  I will “catch” a thought, and it is from some distant space, as though it came from a state far away in our unconscious.  And as I “catch” that thought, I am, literally, “gone.”  My awareness has shifted into that space, wherever it is, and I am simply not present—although the body is!  Holding that thought isn’t a good idea in that moment, as it would take me far, far away.

I am trying to learn how to “hold” an idea or a thought from those realms and bring them back to “this” reality in a way that will honor and contain the original energy of that space from which I am “catching” that idea or thought.  Get it?  It’s like I am going into such a deep space—a very distant state of consciousness—in order to pull “catch,” or retrieve this information.  And at the moment, I’m not doing too good of a job keeping a foot in each world:  I tend to drift off, completely, into the other world, and I get lost.

But for now, I’ll stay put, allowing the thoughts to come and go as they please, without trying to “hold” them, or even “catch” them.  Let’s see how that ones goes!
