Into the Void...

Far removed from the complexities of the human mind,
beyond the realm of the anxious imagination.....
Free of thought, dreams and the endless
trail of needs and desire,
there is a place of peace.

The greatest hindrance to human interaction and authentic communication
is belief, or, belief systems.

We are aware that all of life contains patterns.
Seen as a whole, these patterns may appear random, chaotic.
The nature of the human mind does not allow or tolerate
chaos very well, and so,we choose to perceive certain patterns
that bring us some measure of satisfaction, peace and comfort.

Long ago, we looked at the night sky and saw the countless stars burning.
Some, brighter than others. Seeking order in our lives, with our
imagination we perceived lines between certain, prominent stars-
and astrology was born.

We pondered the nature of life itself and asked the question;
'how did we come to be?' And, 'why are we here?'
In contemplation our imagination responded and religion
appeared, fed by the principles of superstition,
beyond logic and reason.

Nature spirits danced and cavorted around the trees and flowers,
giving them precious life, and thanks to the power of our mind,
we saw them!

As generations passed, they became angels, gods and demons.

Eventually, the concept of 'The One God' prevailed, for many,
and war had a new reason.

No matter how loving and compassionate a person, or a people,
or a belief system is, when beliefs clash
there can be no peace.

An adult can go through life with a fear of water,
for instance.
Never having learned to swim, he or she believes that if they
fell into a large enough body of water, they would die from drowing.

In reality, it is not the water that would kill them.
It is the panic that their fear would bring them to,
should they fall into that water.

Yet, a young child, less than a year old, can enter the water,
free of belief, and survive with joy.

The lesson here is to question and challenge your beliefs and
your motivations.
You never know when you might fall into the water, so to speak,
and if you wait until you fall, it might be too late.

Beyond the realm of the anxious imagination....
Free of thought, dreams and the endless trail of needs and desire,
there is a place of peace.
