First of all I want to thank all of you who responded with sympathy and encouragement to yesterday's post, either by posting a response or by E-mail. Yesterday was rough, especially the night. The pain was really intense, almost unbearable and my knee was starting to draw again. I was in such agony and tossed and turned so much, the puppies refused to sleep with me (which will probably be a good thing as tick season is approaching).
I have just returned from therapy and am feeling a little better. I had to wait my turn and Doc. came out into the waiting room and stuck some needles in me, just four, two in the neck and two in the left knee. For those of you who have never had needles stuck in your knee, its quite an experience. I was in diathermy for about an hour and the pain diminished enough I fell asleep while the machine was running.
My body has pretty well let me know that this is not the time to go raw. I guess I will have to go back to gently steamed vegetables and some raw fruit. I simply cannot digest raw food. I wonder if that fact might have added to yesterday's pain episode. Next time I feel I can shop I'm going to buy some carrots to juice. Hopefully carrot juice, a glass of green food and lightly steamed veggies will provide a cleansing diet that will help ease this inflammation.
Doc. strongly believes it would be foolish to even attempt surgery right now. The swelling in and around the spine is still bad and an operation would be dangerous. So, I guess I am still following the right instincts.
I thought about editing or even deleting yesterday's post, but I am going to leave it. Bad days do come, but with hope and prayer, better days will follow.
