And the planning begins... by #53776 .....

Wedding Location Decided...

I e-mailed my future mother-in-law last night and informed her of what we had been talking about as far as when we would like to have the wedding. I also told her I would need her help with the guest list because I didn't know some of the people that Rob said he would like to invite. She e-mailed back and asked about my schooling and if I would be able to finish once we got married next year-I told her it wasn't gonna be a problem because Rob is very supportive of me finishing my schooling. And I can take out student loan for vet school. She then told me that she would start on a guest list for her part of the family and she also mentioned that men didn't realize the planning and time involved for a wedding. (I've already come to realize that-lol:-) She said that there would be plenty to do and many people to invite. So I'm excited and she sounded very excited as well.

I went and watched a movie with Rob last night and got him to discuss the wedding just a little bit (but little bit better than none at all). He agreed that we could have it at my church and he said it didn't have to be next June, that he just wanted it in the warmer months-between mid-April and mid-September. It will have to be sometime when school is in recess though-I wouldn't be able to handle all the wedding things and school at the same time I don't believe. He also gave me some names to add to the list that he wanted there. He can be so funny and not even realize it--its funny how he [is ready] for the wedding but says that it is too soon to plan. At least I got him to realize little bit with the planning involved-cause he did agree that I could start planning-hope he realizes that this means he will be helping as well (lol)--I'm pretty good at incorporating him into it and him not completely realizing it-like last night-brought it up casually and we talked about it and I took good mental notes.

I know men are not big into planning events like this and I try to respect that but we will be planning it. No One Else-US together...I'll need some assistance of course but we will make the ultimate decision.

Love to hear from anyone else and how their men handled the wedding planning and how you best incorporated them into it without getting them aggitated at the whole thing before it even got started.
