Enemas do wonders in the healing of Anal Fissures. Takes the pressure off and allows the feces to flow out relatively pain free, so that it doesn't re-tear. A cut in that area heals relatively fast actually, the trick is to not re-injure it. I think most people with AF have chronic constipation so keeps re-opening and can never quite heal and builds up more scar tissue.
