Forums are not the best solution   by Webmaster   19 year 1 of 1 (100%)

Forums are great tool for multi-threaded discussion.

But, if you want to create a FAQ on any subject, forum software is not the best solution. The problem with forums is that good questions and good answers get mixed with discussion, and quickly get lost in the stream of messages and threads.

The advantage of Knowledge Base, also called database of FAQ is in it's design.

All questions on the same subject are concentrated on the same page.
All answers on the same question are concentrated on the same page.
The first answer is answer that got the best votes, the last one is the one with the worst votes.

You can subscribe to any subject, and you will be notified by email every time new question is posted or every time a new answer is posted.

So, while forum software can be used for similar purposes, and so far we have used forum software for Liver Flush FAQ and Bowel Cleanse FAQ , this new software is designed for FAQ only. There is no discussion.
