I run 3 to 4 times a week 4 to 5 miles at a time, I recently tried just a plain water fast and lasted 3 days and failed. I found out about the MC and am excited to try it,actually i am starting on friday, the questions I have are concerning my running, when I fasted before ,I took off running the morning of day 3 which Is the day I quit fasting, I had no energy, I could only run half the distance and I was toast!! The other question is on the "uniodized" Sea Salt . I just bought a bag of sea salt at the health store but it doesnt say weather it is uniodized or iodized on the bag, how do I know? and finally the O,J on completion of the fast, I dont have a juicer, the orange juice has to be fresh right? not frozen? I can squeeze the juice out of the lemon for the lemonade no problem for a couple tbsp no problem but an orange? Will a blender work for the orange juice? Or does it have to be pure juice?
Thanks!
You can get a citrus juicer in the "gadget aisle" of any supermarket for a couple bucks. As for the running, you might want to cut down the distance in the beginning. I would say listen to your body, and if you don't have the energy, take it easy! The MC is different for everyone and different each time you do it. I'm just finishing up my 3rd and this time I was fatigued many days.
There are people here way more experienced than me and I'm sure they will weigh in with more advice!
The MC book says the salt should be uniodized Sea Salt . However, in the country I live it is illegal to sell uniodized salt. Since I have not found the black market for salt yet, I just had to go with it ;-)
Apparently, it is not optimum, but it works too. Better than not doing it.
