Hey everyone,
So I have been attempting to start a water/juice/kombucha fast for the past few days, but am having so much trouble with giving in to temptations. Every time I reach inside the fridge, I see food that is good for me, but not on a water fast! So I have it. It is so hard because i have a roommate who, while I love her, does not understand fasting for health. How do I step away from these constant temptations? I have fasted before and have never had trouble with this! I would REALLY appreciate some advice, this is hard for me and I do not really have anyone to talk to about this!
Maybe you could try eating the foods that tempt you so much for a day or two.. and eat them to your heart's content! Enough hopefully to dull the cravings for them before you start your fast. Then on the night before your fast have a big fruit salad, my best starts to fasts have been after a fruit meal the night before. You fully hydrate yourself and the taste of your last meal almost follows you through the first couple of days.
You could also try putting your water in an esky and staying away from the fridge altogether. :) And going for a walk or something when the cravings hit.
