I'm not sure about quick relief because depression can be caused by many things such as medications, foods, hormones, vitamin or mineral deficiencies, etc. The first thing I would do is an elimination diet to see what foods you are allergic to or even do food blending (like juicing but just blending natural fresh vegetables) for a couple of days and slowly adding one food back at a time each day... This will help you eliminate any foods that are possibly making the depression worse.
Also, if you can afford it have a naturopath do a nutritional analysis to see what you are lacking...D3 can be a problem, iron can be a problem, magnesium, folic acid, and omega 3's...if you are lacking in those it can cause depression!
Finally, I know that some people think that depression can be about feelings that have not been vented, but most of the time it is environmental factors that are contributing that people just don't realize and doctors just don't take the time to get to the bottom of...they simply treat it with a pill or not!
