I don't know for sure what's going on but makes sense to me that it would kill off all bacteria...it's a pretty powerful antiseptic.
Here's what I'm observing....acid and bile production go up so food digestion is far easier. I like that...off Iodine
I have acid reflux while on it rarely is that a problem.
Constipation continues to be a problem for me but it's not nearly as consistent as in the past. I added in far more probiotic foods and a large amount of probiotics in the evening with a glass of raw dairy.
I'm now been able to maintain 100mgs for almost 2 months with no breast or major blow ups other than minor acne problems. (finally getting cysts completely to resolve in my breasts)
But I've been super busy lately so I started downing my iodoral all at once ( yup all 8 tabs plus other supplements with a big glup of juice and often no food in the AM. Constipation returned viciously this week.
Basically I think I sent the iodine right into my colon to disinfect it each morning.
( oh yes....came across research early on that talked about using dilute iodine enemas to clear out the colon of all bacteria)
So maybe taking it with meals in small doses mimicks the effect of eating higher iodine foods allowing it to absorb through the stomach and intestinal walls and combine into biological molecules that don't harm intestinal bacteria....well at least that's my current guess on this.
While I'm thinking of it...you can ferment seaweeds so obviously the high iodine content isn't killing off the bacteria.
