I tried to do research on coconut water also, but never found any conclusive information. Based on reading regarding coconut's antifungal properties, I decided it was OK to drink coconut water on my diet. I live in South Florida, so I enjoy it fresh from the nut (sneaking a few coconuts from the beach is fun), in jugs from the Caribbean market, or from Whole Foods in those handy TetraPaks. I did go overboard on it, drinking it every day, until I noticed it was making me feel lethargic. My nutritionist advised limiting total sugar consumption to 15 grams a day, so now I just make sure I watch how much I drink, and have it only occasionally as one of my occasional sweet treats along with berries and Granny Smith applies.
