I am strongly considering buying the lifeforce plan. I believe I have systematic candida. Money is tight and I have a hard time justifying spending $600 on this plan without knowing if it will work. I know that I can keep up my end of the bargain with eating the yes foods and I should be able to sweat 6 times a week? For those who have tried the plan, is it worth it?
My husband and I are on it and are so far doing good. If you are worried about the cost, don't buy the entire package at once. You can do the starter kit, which I think it something like $99-$119 (depending on if you want the book and I would recommend the book). After that, you can do month to month. That is what we are doing, as in the long run, it's more affordable for us. I am detoxing heavily, despite the sweating. I am one of those rare people Jeff talks about that is really really toxic. But then again I have had this monster for about 14 years or so, so I realize that I have a lot of gunk, in a lot of places in my body that needs to come out. Despite the sweating, I've had stomach flu like symptoms for about 3 days now. I tell myself this is a good sign that the Candida Force is getting down to the root of the problem in my stomach an intestines and is killing off all the beasties. A little discomfort is worth it in the long run and I have gone through so many years of die-off from other products, that I can certainly handle this. My husband has lost 21 lbs. and says he feels really good (though he wasn't really sick or anything before - perhaps just a mild case of Candida). Hope this helps.
I'm starting Week 9 this morning. So far, I'm down 21 pounds.
The supplements are pricey, but I cut down or stopped several other supplements completely, so it may have evened out. Ordering by the month makes it a bit easier.
I've added walk-in-place DVDs to my program, a mile in the morning and 4 miles in the evening.
I haven't noticed any "sick" feelings, which I think is due to the sweating, but I've stopped waking up with migraines, which I'd been having for years. I had to sleep almost sitting up because lying flat made my head pound. While I'm still using two pillows, I was using three.
I highly recommend the trace minerals, even though they taste ghastly.
The worst part for me at the beginning was the hot baths. I'm a shower person, and I don't have the patience for baths. I moved a TV into the bathroom. Now, I find myself looking forward to relaxing.
Jodi, can you tell me why you take the trace minerals? Is it to help go to the bathroom. I tried them once and nearly vomited, the taste was so horrible. My husband takes them daily though, to help him go.
I have a problem with how to do the baths now that the "curse" is here. Obviously don't want to soak in a tub for 30 minutes with that going on. Have you noticed improvements candida wise, besides the headaches? Thanks.
I take them to keep me regular. Also, reading what they do sold me on them. They replace good minerals you lose by sweating.
Being stopped up has been a problem all my life. Before starting Lifeforce, I had been on Fiber 35 for about a year, and even with 35 grams of fiber, I have to watch it. I got scared off laxatives when I was in my early 20s, so I've tried to treat it naturally since then by eating fiber and drinking water. My favorite remedy is prune juice, and now that I'm in Week 9, I guess I can have the unsweetened kind again.
I put 40 drops in a little bit of water, chug it down followed by cold water and then I eat a grape or bite of food. They are horrible-tasting, but I'm to the point that I think I could drink gasoline if I would lose weight, LOL. (J/K Dr. Jeff!)
The "curse" is several years behind me now, so I hadn't thought about it. I'd think, if you use a tampon, that the 30 minutes would be okay.
Other than weight loss and no headaches, I think the only results I've seen is that I just feel better overall. Before, I was slightly depressed all the time and all I wanted to do was watch TV or read. I used to really like crafts--my house is full of things I've made, but for a couple of years, the thought of doing anything was just too tiring.
Ahhh, I so know what you mean. I too am a craft person and love to do interior design. Just about anything creative. In fact I have been trying to set up my own website business for months now but just can't seem to get that "umph" needed to get off my behind, and find the right person to set on up. The fatigue thing is a major thing for me, which seems to go hand in hand with the lack of initiative and loss of interest in fun things, i.e. shopping (I hate shopping - perish the thought!), crafts, creative stuff, etc., etc. Also, lack of a sex drive, which has been an ongoing problem - but my husband has been a saint over that. Hopefully in a short time, the desire for all those things will come back, but right now going through detoxing, I barely have enough energy to make my breakfast in the morning, or even go online (another thing I love to do - search the net). Glad to know you're feeling so much better. Doesn't sound like your candida was too bad - thank goodness! For years now I've been dealing with chronic pain all over - the Fibromyalgia kind, excess weight that I gain just by looking at food it seems and very hard to lose, non-stop yeast infections that respond to nothing, infertility, painful intercourse, food allergies, digestive disorders, hair loss, dry skin (hypothyroidism), etc. When I was at my sickest, long before we knew what was wrong with me, I was so sick that I lost 100 lbs., half my hair fell out and I could walk without assistance or bathe myself. This was long before I met my husband. I was living on my own and had to move back home to my parents' house, so that she could take care of me. It was a living nightmare. But at least I've rebounded enough to get married, hold down work when necessary, walk slowly, but ok, (slight limp at times, due to the pain) and move three states away due to my husband's job. I can't wait for this to be all over with. Right now I am looking into acumpunture to help with my hypothyroidim, since I can't tolerate the meds needed to help it. Best of luck to you.
I've had acupuncture several times over the last 15 years, and I wish I could go every week.
Funny story about my acupuncture doctor. She's from Taiwan, but has lived in Texas for 30 years or so. One day I was in her office and her daughter, who was born here, was behind the counter. I noticed several pamphlets and books about Taoism.
I asked her daughter--are y'all Taoists?
Her response: "No. We're Baptists."
I wasn't fat but I had the hugest stomach - like a basketball! I'm 5'11 so
it was harder to notice, plus I just learned how to dress so that my
stomach wasn't all that visible. No matter how long or how hard I tried,
I couldn't ignore the candy and donuts. If a dozen Dunkin' Donuts were
brought into the office I had one. Then a second. Only politeness held
me off from the third unless there were some left around 4 then I
considered them fair game and ate those. Once I ate 3/4 of a birthday
cake. Errands were fun - I did a candy bar on the way in and out of every
store. I could do several/day and finish it up with half a package of
oreos. Was it great to get that monkey off my back. I ended up losing 30
lbs, though no one knew it. But that's not why I did the McCombs plan.
I did it because I hated feeling as if I was pumped full of air. And I
hated being a slave to candy, cookies, ice cream, which is why they were
never in my house. SEE YA CANDIDA! It was NOT nice knowing you! Plus I
don't have allergies, succumb to bronchitis at the drop of a hat, or have
a problem with cats anymore either. Round 2 comes up in fall of 2008.
Thanks,
Judi
I was on the plan last year, it really help me to loose weight, I looked good and felt good. I ran out of money around the 13 or 14 week, I did not get to complete the plan or finish taking the acidophilus, I developed a yeast infection because my body needed the acidophilus. I am not sure that's why I got the yeast infection, But I am almost certain that's why, my husband was away, I was not having sex and I was not doing anything unusual, I am 99% sure it's because I did not finish taking the acidophilus.
I am planning on going back on the plan, I will buy half the products and order the other half the next month. The acidophilus I will order when the weeks come around where I need it.
My advise, if you want to loose weight and feel great, you will! This is an awesome plan I will advise anyone who would like to change life to try this plan. I fail the first time because i went back to eating junk, but i will not make that mistake again, I took a nutritional course and what I learned has change me forever. I want to be healthy and you do too. save the money and make the investment you are worth it.
I have read your postings and was wondering if those of you who have finished the lifeforce plan are healed of candida? Does it get rid of it completely? I am not sure how long I have had it but in reading some of your postings I have the lack of motivation where I just as soon sit around and read a book all day. I also crave chocolate and crunchy chips.
