  • Treating a severely split lip by  Sharpy  5 year  15,098  Dental Health / Colloidal / Cutting &

I'm not sure if this is the right category to post in, but I was just wondering if any one knew of a way to heal a severely split open lip.

My disabled aunt fell down the other day, and landed directly on her face. She has multiple contusions all over her face, black eyes, broken nose, scraped up knees. But the worst part is the fact that she split open her lip pretty bad. The worst I've ever seen.

It looks like an entire chunk is missing from the very center of the bottom lip. So, far, I'm treating it by having her drink lots of water & tea. Clean it out multiple times a day. I have a few things she uses to cleanse her mouth out. The main one was a collodial silver drink, with a few drops of DMSO. I am also rubbing a little bit of Vitamin E Oil on the external part of her lip.

Can anyone tell me if these are good or bad? or let me know of something more effective. Thanks... in advance.

I would try a Urgent Care medical facility. If you have insurance.

Ionic silver would be a very good thing to put on it as it is said to rejuvenate tissue.

I agree with JAB.  First of all, the injuries sound serious enough to warrant prompt medical attention and secondly, the suggestion to use silver, either ionic or colloidal, is an excellent one.  I actually prefer ionic for topical injuries.

Other than than, from my website and book:

      Cuts

      • Serious cuts require prompt medical attention!

      • Pressure.  Apply pressure to the cut to help the blood clot.

      • Lavender oil.  Apply lavender oil to cuts and scrapes. Application usually causes no pain, and the pain from the wound should disappear quickly. Lavender also speeds healing immensely and kills germs.

      • Colloidal or ionic silver.  Apply the silver to cuts and scrapes. The application causes no more pain than plain water, but silver is a natural antibiotic, germ killing, antiseptic that causes speedy healing and helps rebuild tissues.

      • Raw honey.  Apply raw honey and cover with a bandage. With a small cut, the pain from the cut is gone after about 30 minutes, but leaving this on overnight is even better. Raw honey has been used for over 2,000 years to prevent and heal infections. (Raw honey is available in most grocery stores.)  Raw honey applied and left on overnight to a small cut that becomes infected should eliminate both the pain and infection by the following morning.

      • Tea.  Apply wet tea bags to the cut.  The tannins in tea help the blood coagulate faster.  Especially good for cuts inside the mouth.

      • Hydrogen peroxide.  Also good for cuts inside the mouth.  Mix 50/50 with water and apply with a Q-Tip.  For external cuts, apply antibiotic ointment afterwards, for cuts inside the mouth, dab on milk of magnesia with a Q- tip.

      • The antioxidant power that makes vitamin E so good for your heart also speeds the healing of minor cuts. Simply prick a vitamin E capsule with a sterile needle and squeeze the oil onto your cut at least three times a day. Cover it with a Band-Aid if it's a serious wound. Be sure to choose natural vitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol).  Research shows that it has more antioxidant power than synthetic vitamin E.

      • Bromelain (and extract of the pineapple plant) helps speed healing tremendously.

      • Mix one part powdered echinacea, one part powdered slippery elm and one part powdered cranesbill.  Add water to make a paste. Rub on the affected area and cover with a bandage or gauze.

      • Garlic.  Garlic is a natural antibiotic.  Rub fresh garlic on minor cuts.

Thank you for the great tips!

We did indeed take my aunt to the ER, but it wasn't until about 18 hours after the fall. At that point they told us there was nothing they could do to help her out.... but if we brought her in directly after it happend, then they may be able to do something.

oh well.... I still have her gargling the Collodial Silver with a little DMSO. Can anyone tell me more about DMSO. What it is, and can do for the body? I am also still rubbing the Vitamin E Oil directly on her lips a couple times a day. It all seems to be helping.
