Is it all down to bile flow as Dr?Charlie says. I do think the liver can get congested and become inefficient but what about the pancreas and stomach these are above where the bile enters the gut and they are also very important to digestion.
I think a problem can arise in any organ independant of the liver but good liver function is of course important
From all my course work in the study of Naturopathy I have come to learn that all degenerative disease arises from poor liver function. If the liver is healthy and functioning properly then, usually, everything else can heal as well.
However, our brain can trigger imbalance, trauma, for example, can throw off our chemical balance and disrupt the flow of vital minerals, which can in turn start the course of illness. So, in some cases it may be the brain that first initiates the course of illness.
Consider also a child born to a mother who has a congested liver. A child born to an unhealthy mother will not be any healthier than the mom. So, in this case there is inherited weakness passed on. In this case, nutrition will be vital and a positive and nurturing environment essential for the child to overcome that weakness. Most likely, this child will develop asthma, childhood illnesses and other health related complications, even if fed and treated properly in today’s world because of our environmental pollutions.
In chinese medicine they seem to emphasize the stomach and spleen/pancreas or digestion but I suppose this includes the livers digestive function Perhaps this is because they eat a low fat low meat diet anyway. The liver is more emphasized in western countries it seems due to the diet history.
Also you can be born with a weak anything. Maybe your can be born with toxins from your mother but also I think as chinese medicine says blockage in energy flow can deprive any organ of energy and weaken it. The liver is usually regarded as a problem if it is too
full rather that weak in TCM. I think some naturopathy ideas are a bit out of date. They come from when our diet was a bit different. All organs I think need to considered equally
Though I agree we should lay off Charlie and allow him to prove himself...I can see how Jonsher got the impression that this debate forum was created to counter Charlie's theories.
Perhaps if we could simply stick to a topic relating to herbs & how they effect the body without bringing Charlie's name into it then all will be happy :)
Debate Forums are the trash cans of curezone, and I don't say that in a negative tone, because they are necessary. People used to respond to ML's posts via the acid/alkaline debate forum and no one minded. Charlie is presenting an herbal protocol for sale here on curezone and I think that this is an appropriate place to debate it - all aspects of it. I agree that this should not become a forum to strictly bash Charlie, but his theory is that all problems relate to a sluggish liver and poor bile flow and that he and only he can heal it through an herbal tonic, so in my mind anything related to those topics are fair game on this forum.
Practically no disease comes into the body uninvited, and an impaired liver with poor bile flow is an engraved invitation card.
The liver's primary function is to remove toxins and it passes those toxins out via the bile duct. As cancer pioneer Max Gerson observed, he never found cancer except with patients whose liver was impaired. He also insisted that patients on his protocol take frequent coffee enemas to keep the bile duct open and flowing.
Besides coffee enemas, in my opinion the best things to keep the bile duct open and functioning properly are lecithin with choline and coconut oil. Beet juice is also supposed to be good. And I recommend milk thistle as an absolute must for good liver health. Other beneficial supplements include alpha lipoic acid, seleium and turmeric.
