"Your boyfriend may have interpreted the whites of your eyes as being yellow, but how do YOU see their color? would you say they are of a normal color or not?
InCharge is quite right, the whites of your eyes should become even more pronounced and sparkling as the fast progresses."
Chris - last night I was very much trying to see the color (he was viewing them in natural sunlight) and I was having trouble focusing at close range even to read which is very unlike me.
"If they have a yellow hue, then this could be a sign of slight Liver dysfunction and possible mild jaundice, which would also be revealed by yellowing of the skin and other bodily fluids to some degree: is this the case?"
I have not noticed enhanced yellowing in fluids or skin; however, it is hard for me to tell on myself about the skin.
"It sounds to me that you have probably been overdoing things with your work schedule, and where your bodily organs may be in need of more rest and the conservation of those energies, which they are not being allowed to.
A few days of physical rest from your work would probably correct this, if not, and/or the yellowing becomes more pronounced, I suggest you have a blood test for your bilirubin levels to see if they come within the normal range: if the measurement is elevated this would account for the anomaly."
I admit that trying to maintain my current schedule and do the fast may not have been advisable. The first few days were simply amazing with a nice clean feeling and enhanced energy. The past 2 days the energy levels plummeted and I knew I needed more rest yet as a producer there were lots of detail items to be addressed before the shoots even begin.
It was absolutely not an easy decision last night to break the fast. At the point I had the certain distinction that it was now time to break the fast - and keep in mind if I had ideal conditions to just rest I would have kept going. To give you an idea, I got to sleep around 2a Saturday morning after finishing questions for the interviews, was up at 7a for the shoot, the grip had a family emergency which meant the skeleton crew had to all pitch in which entailed getting the gear in place, sand bags, setting everything up, moving the lights and camera around for different takes, etc (and I was firing on all pistons during the shoot). Once that was wrapped around 4p, I met Michael (boyfriend) as he grabbed something to eat, got home around 5:30p, a friend just back from a Yoga retreat in Costa Rica wanted to meet at 7p and I foolishly agreed, at the point I was about to leave I felt like I could have fallen asleep on my feet but as she was already en route on her Ducati I knew she wouldn't be able to answer her mobile, finally got home around 9:30p and at that point I was so tired I couldn't sleep. It was around 11p when I finally decided after much thinking to have the juice. Knowing I have another shoot today that I'm about to go to, and knowing how I was feeling last night, I decided to have a juice. I went with carrot and red grape - a combo I'd never tried before but did so because that's what was on hand and it was amazingly good and I was beyond full after having it.
I feel so much better right now than I did even 24 hours ago - and I dropped another pound (ha ha).
I'd said to myself all along that when my body indicated it was ready to break, I would heed it & due to the activity level, I feel that this is the right time. I will focus on vegetable juices as they are high nutrition / low calorie. I just want the nutrients.
Chris -- Thank you so much as always for your counsel and wisdom....Raine
