I'm about to begin a 3-month treatment for toenail fungus. I'll be taking lamasil tablets everyday. This medication has been known to cause liver damage so I thought before I get started I would do a parasite and liver cleanse to get my liver in optimal condition. And throughout the treatment, keep a liver-friendly diet. Not sure how things are going to go. I'm wondering if it's safe to do a liver cleanse during the 3-month treatment. My main concern is any harsh reactions between strong herbs and the lamasil.
Does anyone have experience with this? Advice? Please advise.
I have used Green Hulled Black Walnut Tincture on my toe for athletes foot with good success.
Maybe you could try that on your toe instead of the lamasil medication. The first time I used the Black Walnut Tincture, my toe stopped itching in less than five minutes. I also took some
internally. The toe dried up in about five days. I would apply it about four or five times a day. At night I would put the Tincture on a band aid and slept with it on all night.
I would think that if you did the colon/kidney/parasite/liver and gall bladder cleanses recommended by either Dr. Clark or Dr. Schulze you might not need the lamasil medication.
Good luck.
Sorry Glenna I haven't been on to post messages since friday. I think your question was for me. I either use a spray bottle or drop it on. I actually mixed the grapefruit seed oil with tee tree oil. I use it on anything moldy that can't be easily washed. And once on foot fungus.
Someone had also told me about "Tea Tree Oil", & I've tried 1 bottle of it on my affected toe nails.. I didn't see any result.. How long have you & your wife used the oil, & how many times a day did you guys applied it on the affected nails? Thank you in advance..
Forget using a drug that could harm your liver, and use a natural approach instead. This web site is full of good idea's as you can see. Just do a search to get idea's. Also you should look into candida since that is a symptom of it. Start doing the Kidney/Parasite/Liver cleanses and put that lamisil up on the shelf for awhile. You'll probubly begin to see your toenail fungus clear up while cleansing like many of the rest of us have! And you'll probubly decide to throw the lamisil away and Thank God you didn't use it. Good Luck!
Based on my experience: I tried several otc creams as well as different things from the health food store (but none of the suggestions you got) a few years ago before I knew of this site. I eventually went on lamisil and.. maybe 3-4 weeks later my liver was killing me! I stopped taking it and went to my dr. and got liver checked - which was all good, thank God! My toenails eventually cleared up without doing anything else to them, but I was very scared about my liver for awhile. (I've never had liver problems before). I would try the suggestions before taking those toxins. Also, you may or may not know- make sure you're tub or shower is kept very clean.
Did you stay off alcohol while taking the lamisil? I've been slowly cutting out alcohol, caffeine, animal fat and other foods that are hard on the liver in preparation for this medical treatment. My doctor requires blood tests before, during and after the treatment. I will get my "before" blood test results back this week. How far spread was your toenail fungus? How long did you have it before starting the lamsil. I'm curious to find out how it went away so fast. Thanks.
Thanks, everyone, for your advice. I have had toenail fungus for 13 years approximately (I am a runner and think this is how it started.) I have tried holistic approaches - teatree oil - and topical lamisil. Nothing has helped. And it's spreading. I have looked into a yeast-free diet and assumed this could help. Not sure if I am going to take the lamisil pills yet. May try all the cleanses plus a yeast-free diet for awhile. Plus the black hull walnut oil. I'll let you know what happens.
It's alarmism to think that Lamasil can
hurt a healthy liver. That's why you first
get a blood-test to see if your drinking
and drug-taking ways have already harmed
your liver guys! Only if your liver tests
okay do you then do the Lamasil.
I was just diognoised with toenail fungus and I am woundering what kidney/parasite/liver cleanses I've read about on this web site? Also I know I have had this problem for about ten years now. Is it to late for lamasil or any other cure to wok?
Hi, Just wondering if you tried the lamisil and how it went. I'm considering using it for a toenail fungus infection I've had for several years. I am concerned about the side effects but having the infection has truly affected my comfort level as I'm sure you are aware, so I really want to get rid of it. I've tried a few topical treatments that didn't seem to have any effect like Vicks and vinegar.
I had a realy bad toe fungus on half my toenails.
A couple years ago I did a Lamasil and it fixed
all but one toenail. The podiatrist indicated
the last one might have been fixed had a finished
my appointments with her. Anyway, I have decided
to go on another course of Lamasil to get this
last nail. Took my first Lamasil today. Took
the liver function test late last week. I'll
take another liver test or two over the next
12 weeks.
I have no history of drinking, foolish sexual
escapades, nor drug-taking, nor any genetic
predisposition to week liver function.
For such a person as me, Lamasil is completely safe.
I just found out today that Lamasil is advisable for my case, I,like you, have not done anything foolish or ever been on drugs and only drink occassionaly. I just have half a toenail that is infected for about 1 1/2 years. The doctor told me though, that my socks and possibly my shoes could also have the spores in them and may be a good idea to get rid of the socks anyway. Did you have to do this or does anyone out there know if these spores, which I am told are commonly found in our enviornment, are apt to re-infect one after the treatment has been successful? Also, is there anything to put into ones shoes which could kill the spores? My infection came after I severly injured my toenail. The liver thing does sound scarry, and my doctor said there would really be no way to tell if you are having a problem until it happens. Thank you.
