I have a question about niacin flush. I went from taking flush free to niacin. Anyhow I jumped right in to the 500mg because I am a masochist, JK! Anyhow I have been taking it for a few days (5 I think) and still getting a flush 20-30 minutes maybe less. My question is about when I watch the flush on my body each day it goes further into my extremities, it has not reached my wrists or below my knees. Could this be because of the amount of detoxing the niacin has to do and just isn't able to get that far yet or is it something else? I do take it with food (after a meal but for awhile I did not have much of an appetite) it makes me feel ill. That last about 30 minutes after the flush is gone. I am guessing eventually this will be a non issue. I am just curious mostly, I know I should have started taking a lower dose, but I am sick of all the pills, and didn't want more. I also want to say thank you to everyone who puts time in on this whole site it has been a tremendous help to my start with iodine, and getting me through my first detox. I had a horrible rash thought I had gotten poison ivy and kept putting iodine on it then figured out it was a detox reaction. LOL I am a professional gardener so I do get exposed very often. Thanks again!
Just today I went and bought a 100 mg cap instead of taking the 250s (am/pm). The flush is still as apparent as the 250. I am going to see if I can get an appointment with Dr Shevin his office is few miles from my house. Maybe some things can get sorted out.
Thank you for the link
