I just bought a used Acme Supreme Juicerator #5001- does anyone know anything about this juicer- I know there are certain ones you don't want. But I don't know the difference.
C bass,
I know nothing about your new juicer.
I do know that the ones that you want are twin gear ones.
The ones you do not want are the centrifugal ones.
I have a Acme 6001 that my mother gave me about 10 years ago, she used this same juicer when I was in my early teens, and I'm 52 now. I love it, as it gets so much juice out of everything. I do understand that you have to drink the juice right away because the centrifulgal (excuse spelling) type juicers destroy some of the nutrients, but my pulp comes out very dry. It doesn't do wheat grass, or other grasses very well.I did hear that the twin gear juicers like the "green star", get 20 to 35 percent less juice from the juicing process but that more nutrients are retained because of the low RPM used to juice. Wish my Acme did grasses because they are so benefical to our health, but I just can't see going out and spending $400 bucks for another juicer when the one I have works beautifully. When it finally bites the dust I may just look into getting the "green star", as it looks like a pretty nice machine.
Happy Juicing
