People here are long-time users, I am relatively a newbie. Posters here are past of discussing only health-relaed issues. Through discussions, even off topics, we learn, grow together. Obviously, this is not your aim. If you're here to receive help, comfort, perhaps even friendship, please stay. If it is something else you're looking for, perhaps these forums are not for you, so please move on. Curezone has no place for igniting arguments. Sorry, but I must respond. Although I haven't searched the whole site to determine if your accusations are true. I am sure that truly racist or anti-semitic statements wouldn't be allowed on here. Criticising a government's behavior can hardly be called anti-semitic or racist. If you know of actual anti-semitic or racist posts please let me know. Till then I will continue to search to see if what you say is true. It does seem strange to me that those that scream anti-semitism have nothing to say about anti-arab racism though. They usually seem perfectly willing to scream ugly remarks about Arabs at every juncture and there is no problem with this type of racism in their eyes.

Unfortunately (my view) Curezone doesn't really have a balance either in the type of views shown here and the number; just watch at how many will disagree very quickly at my post; when it comes to matters of Israel or judaism.
Politcal correctness at this point in history means lashings of sympathy for Islam and none for its natural 'enemies' (i,e rationality, athiesm and any other religion). When you have large numbers influencing public opinion the outcome is always going to be one sided. I do not believe many here have even bothered to view a map of the entire middle east to see the real situation vis a vis land rights, occupation etc.
I've also tried to work out why certain issues come up all the time at Curezone(anti jewish sentiment, constant whining about not being "allowed" to talk about jews/Israel/the holocaust, even they do incessantly!!! - its hilarious) and I've got a few theories... To me, what gets bought up at Curezone seems weighted heavily to geographically specific forces which shape the ideas you see here on these forums; for example if you live somewhere where there is a taboo subject, you find some people just can help wanting it bring it up all the time and are quite obsessed.
For example and for future reference, when it does become illegal to question/criticize Islam (and it will), I'm sure we will have a measurable shift away from constant bringing up about Israel/Jewish issues to the the question of Islam and why we aren't allowed to talk about it. Whilst we still can, we don't bother.
Free speech is a wonderful thing and sometimes we have to put up with hearing things we don't like. Truth is truth no matter how much BS you throw at it.

I am not here to agree or disagree with you. What bothers me is Holocaust wasn't mentioned for a good 40 years. Now in the last 10, whereever you turn, any media, it is constantly brought up, shown. Why? For future generations? They would learn about it, through history if interested. In Oz, if a jewish person gets offended by a non-Jew, part of the "punishment" is that person, young or old has to endure history lessons re Holocaust, visit the Jewish Museum, and of course, blowing the original offence out of proportion in all types of available media. Not to mention leagal proceedings. there is recommendation, lessons about Holocaust should be icluded in school curriculums. In religious education, parent has a say, if she/he wants her children to be included. Would it be the same for Holocaust lessons too? While that part of history was a sad one, before and after genocides has happened. Killed Jews numbers are rising every year. Does anyone really know how many were killed then? By speaking to those survivors, I have learned, not all who claim to be in the concentration camps were actually there. When I questioned this, answer was, no such technology today, people have had no ID papers, they would vouch for each other, for not a small amount of money. I know some, who's birthday on current ID's deffer from what the date they actually celebrate. Most of them have different names too. True, war calls for drastic measures to survive, on all sides. Finally, let's not forget, not only Jews were killed, but gypsies, disabled, blacks/coloured etc.

I'm not sure why you are hearing more about the holocaust now, more than ever; but I know in the west we hear about it alot because it is part of our european history, in the same way we hear alot about the stolen generation (aboriginal) here in oz. By contrast, people in Asia, I can't imagine would have it in their consciousness.
I've been hearing about it (holocaust) for a long time and i'm over 40; but I've also been hearing about the plight of all sorts of people in all different places around the globe as there is so much horror, everywhere, and I also do suspect we are all suffering from a massive case of compassion fatigue when it comes to this stuff because we do hear of this stuff all the time.
I certainly do not question the validity of it (the holocaust) as there is german footage of the events and testimonials of people who lost family. As you say, its also clearly documented that gypsies, homosexuals and intellectuals were also just as much targetted by nazism.
Its (the holocaust) obviously something people like to debate and that's their right to do so. These debates and holocaust denial in general does understandably upset some people but that's the price of free speech which I think is very important for all subjects. Nothing should be off the table for discussion so I respect your right to air your views and concerns.

I am 47, lived first 14 years in Europe. Under Communism, or maybe had nothing to do with it, being Jewish meant, you were a different race. I have asked older Jewish people about it, who lived in Europe in the same timeframe, they agree with it. Living in Australia, I always heard, being Jewish, means, following different religion, until now. It seems, being Jewish is viewed all over the world as a different race, now. Any view on this?
About the question you are asking me, this one comes up just as often when it comes to jews. What difference would it make and why is it asked about jews so often? I suspect its is probably the same reason why people argue about homosexuals in this regard: i.e, is it an innate or chosen characteristic. Sometimes those who are bigotted want to argue it is chosen.
Personally I like to come out of the closet and declare my position on things rather than bating on the issues to stir them up. I am clinically agnostic but probably leaning towards being athiestic and anti religion, especially Islam in this time and place because it is so prolific and is demanding for change I don't agree with across the political landscape.
The reason I am pro Israel is because I have nationalistic tendencies (rather than internationalist) and have consulted the world map and can see it (Israel) is a very small country surrounded by huge land masses occupied by arabs/muslims who can be very nationalistic and enjoy the privilages of shaping their countries the way they see fit with liberty and soverignity. I acknowledge the plight of palestinians, but there is simply no "room" in Israel and this problem needs to be taken up as an issue by their arab brothers and sisters, not a problem for Israel to solve.
I consider Islam to be a threat to western civilisation and free speech. I believe it is a threat to rationality, freedom of thought and action, and especially women's rights. I believe we all have a right to say what we think and hope this continues at Curezone since I seem to be a lonely voice in supporting Israel here.
I think you stated that very well and agree with you. You are not alone in supporting israel, but I agree that there are not very many voices here for them. I notice that it is a trend in more places than just here.

I would point out that I am not anti-Jewish nor am I pro-Muslim - and I certainly am not pro-Hamas, though I can understand their appeal to Palestinians who have been treated so abysmally. I am pro any peace loving people and that includes a very large number of Muslims as well as a large but mostly unheard from segment of the Jewish population who are not Zionists. I am most definitely anti-Zionist when it comes to those whose political and religous leaders are lead by the abominable teachings of the Talmud and who plot to control the world.
Likewise I am against the radical elements of Islam who teach hatred for the infidel, conduct beheadings, recruit the poor and the young to martyr themselves as suicide bombers and seek to control the world. Don't forget, it is not Israel only at work, but the large number of Jews outside of Israel. They are the ones, who provide backing, financial, religious etc. Talking here to some old Jewish members of the community, (most of them never been to Israel) they agree more to this slaughter, see it as their right, as necessity, than Israelis themselves.

Interestingly, here, in Melbourne, Australia, last month it was announced, People who only have their father Hewish, will be recognised as Jews. Why? Obviously, their leaders see the need to boost the number of the Jewish community. What is the reaction from "full Jews"? They've vowed never to accept them.

Well apparently it is not illegal to harass or talk about Muslims as that is allowed what the thread is about not saying one word of any kind about Israel. So speak badly all you want about Muslims and Islam just don't talk about the Jews.
But then again, if we can't talk about the Jews and Israel, why then is not talking about Islam and budist and Mormons and all organized religions not stopped also. The rule has to be and should be for all not just the Jews.
Sara, I am posting here not for religious or political reasons. I work in Community Care, mainly with Jewish clients, in dominantly Jewish area. Self-created, very tightly knit, christian neighbours not so welcome, (sell your property to us) by the Jewish residents. I can't help to notice it is the Jewish people who are saying, hey, we are different than the rest of you (better!), we want/demand/deserve different (better) treatment than the rest of community. Living with Jews under Communism and in the West, I do have questions, and yes, I do ask my clients too. We receive training on how to go about with Jewish clients, history, politics, tradition so on. I can see and understand reasons for rest of community being anti-Jewish. The Jewish mainly immigrants to this country demand services the rest of community does not receive, but fund through their taxes, rates is just being one of them. These are everyday observations, nothing to do with maps, racism etc.

A big difference. My gripe is I think I should be able to post my opinions especially if it is the truth and backed up by newspaper articles such as the one I posted at the top of the thread. Informing people about what is going on is not anti jewish. I don't like the gov't but love the people. I have had tons of clients and yes they want to be treated like royalty but so do many other people.
I am Pro Muslim , not anti anything. I am against genocide, the killing of innocent people, like the people of the world trade centers, I am anti hate, bigotry and most of all people who don't worship God. Sara, I understand what you're saying, want. No, you're not asking for too much, only for fairness.
My post didn't mean to confuse you. I've posted my thoughts, opinions, observations on Jewish living, so that people who think they're discriminated against, in every day life, might understand, how, what and why other people maybe thinking in the community about this matter.

I fully agree 100%. If you remember, when I've joined the thread started on Gaza, this is what I've posted. This was the reason I've actually posted anything. I voiced my opinion, saying Israel is committing a genocide, occupying land, that do not belong to them, killing innocent civilians.
