I dream in full colour...some dreams more vivid than others. But I remember one long dream that was all in rich brown sepia tones, like an old photograph.
I've never been able to tell whether colour or black and white. I try to recall
objects that might have been associated with a colour and I can't tell. Why
is that?
Dear Janaki,
I wonder why that is, too. Are you a black and white photographer of color? I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
Before I go to bed, I tell myself that I am going to remember my dreams. First thing in the morning, I think about what I dreamt. It takes a conscience effort to remember my dreams.
I did notice that my dreams are in sharp focus, which I really like because in real life I need glasses.
I want to theorize that people who are color blind might have a tendency to dream in black and white. Just thinking.
Hi Janaki! I must have been busy when I read your post last time! Cutiepie alerted me to your post!
I'm thinking that you're not associating a colour with an object in your dream because you're not a 'visual' person. Do you think this is true? During a hypnotherapy class I took we were taught that there are two kinds of people: visual people & imaginative people. Maybe you are less visual (how are you at pictionary?? ha! A friend of mine isn't visual at all - we discovered! - as she sat for minutes on end unable to begin to draw a bicycle. Finally she started drawing and she drew it with four wheels and from two different angles at once! Top view and side view! Of course we all thought it was hilarious...aw.) Anyway..you may be better at pictionary that she! But maybe you are more 'imaginative' which means that you get flowing impressions (like seeing with your minds eye not your eye-eyes) or thought forms. More musical, poetic people have this sort of thing.
I dont remember ever dreaming in black and white.
I did once date a guy who dreamed in black and white.
An American Indian, embarassed by his ancestry.
He was very materialistic, wanted two of everything.
When he found out I dreamt in color he was shocked.
Told me it was an indication of madness!
Haw haw haw haw...[evil laughter]
