I just had a orthopedic surgen assume, recommend and schedule surgery for me. There was no discussion of the surgery or the pros or cons.
I have neuropathy in my hands and feet and it was found lately that my high blood pressure medicine was the cause. I stoped that plus vit. b12 injections seems to helping the nerves.
Stiffness in my hand is almost gone, a lot of the burning and other crazy feelings are also gone, but the very tips of the fingers are slightly numb. Have no wrist pain uless I do heavy physical labor.
I have searched and found many web pages that give percentages of success of this surgery and it doesn't look good. I think the 70% failure rate stinks, plus the probable repeat surgery in 2+ years(?). Hey men, how about the result of weakened hands and wrists?
My wife, the office worker, has had workers through the years that have had the surgery. She can not remember ever hearing anyone not praise the surgery.
So, whatz up? Is this a peocedire a rational person woould do?
My mother had the surgery a few months ago-- after basically being told it was a thirty-second 'procedure'. She felt she had no choice, as her hands had become all but useless -- but it was the pain in the nerve that bothered her the most. After surgery she had two lengthwise and two crosswise lines of stitches.(quite scary looking for a minor procedure)She lives in another country so I can only go by what she says, but it has been hard for her. It seems it isn't just one thing-- with this condition is likely many other problems with the joints, etc.
I personally would try everything dietary, and cleansing-wise before I would submit to this. It wasn't, it turned out, a brief surgery, and the recovery has yet to be determined. My mother always had very fine hands, is (maybe was!) very good with them...relies on them! I attribute this recent downturn in her health, (evidenced by the carpal tunnel,though not everyone gets this, so it's not simply a 'given')
to a very acid condition of the body. At a certain point, it (the acid waste) accumulates and goes to the joints, and so on and so on. it is as they say: "if you are ill, you ate it." No judgment here, just the facts. And there's no 'quick fix' I don't think, though I do believe that progress can be soon seen, when moving in the right direction. And, it may be that other 'conditions "disappear" while working toward wholeness! That's always an inspiration.
I would suggest reading Andreas' Moritz, (his forum, his books)on alkalizing and cleansing. Another very good book is Health Via Food, by William Howard Hay. It's an older book, but gets right to the root of things, so keep a lookout for it. I'm trying to get my mother off her habit for meat (an erroneous attempt to lose weight, and a misunderstanding of what actually 'happens' with meat in the human body. Again, check Andreas Moritz on 'protein'. it's eye-opening.) and other acid-forming foods..and back to real health. I wish you well also. Cutting is always to be avoided, in my view.
