Ah, I don't feel like such a wimp then - since I could have survived the 3rd day if I didn't have to be working.
Why do I do it? Mostly for health reasons like cleansing, disease prevention etc, giving the body a break from its normal digestive duties, etc. I never believed that fasting helped lose weight long term - and unfortunately it never does in my case.
But probably the biggest allure is the way it makes me think and feel. it gives me a different outlook, makes me feel clearer, less emotional and often more spiritual. I tend to seek out soul satisfying activities like hikes or bike rides in nature, classical music concerts, museams, etc.
Just another of the many phases I seem to go through - but in this case it seems to be a good thing. Why do/did you fast?
