oh Tracey, great posts about Sedna. I've been thinking a lot about it, reading about the myth and the archetype. So interesting... I'll have to pop back later, but I pulled a couple of cards, Inner child and Flower cards, here's what I got...
XIII Sleeping Beauty
When this card appears in your reading, along period of contemplation may be needed. Do not be afraid of the quiet growth occurring within. Enter the world of dreams, archetypes, and symbols with courage and emotional calm. Learn while you are in a receptive state. Doing something externally is not always an answer. Let go of the past. Like a caterpillar changing into a butterfly, a magical process is underway in the depths of your being. Eventually, you will sprout wings and soar like an eagle over formerly uncharted realms of knowledge.
The process of metamorphosis is dangerous, but every child must go through this incubation period before becoming an adult. The young person must leave the safety net of childhood, but the joys and sorrows of that time span will live on in the imagination.
This card also suggests the healing power of sleep. Without enough rest, the cells of the body cannot function properly and the immune system is stretched to its limit. See the peace and quiet of sleep as an interlude of tranquil recuperation. During sleep, the soul loosens its grip on the physical body and roams the spiritual universe (while still maintaining its tie to the body through the "silver cord" or thread of consciousness);. Enjoy this nightly excursion into another realm of existence and bring back the fruits of those experiences in the forms of amazing dreams, visions and plans for the future.
Traditional Archetype: Death
Zodiacal ruler:: Scorpio
MOUNTAIN PRIDE
Latin -Penotemen newberryi
Plant Signature
Mountain Pride is native to the higher elevations of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The plant, which grows well in dry, sunny climates, has a woody base with thick, roundish, toothed leaves. Its rich, rose-red flowers are tubular in shape.
Flower Essence
The tubularity of Mountain Pride flowers denotes a trumpet's call to action, while their deep red color suggests a profound love of humanity, and the plant's thick base symbolizes the grounding and stabilizing of energy. When taking this essence, one's motivations become pure and honest, and one is empowered to speak from the heart, as well as to act with conviction and common sense, in order to achieve his or her destiny.
Archetype
The Spiritual Warrior
The Spiritual Warrior, also known as the Peaceful Warrior, "walks his talk" and follows through with his commitments, taking full responsibility for his own actions, authority, and freedom. He lives the "Path of the Heart," receiving sacred messages from Mother Earth. Though not literally a warring being, the Peaceful Warrior is also not passive, for he is spiritually guided into various warrior-like maneuvers when left with no other alternative.
Healing
You are a Spiritual Warrior. Male or female, you carry the Medicine Way within you, for you walk in reverence as you pursue your heart's calling-your destiny. The great mountain and the zenith sun remind you of the goals you wish to accomplish. Elk stands as your companion, noble and strong, lending its Medicine of perseverance and endurance to your own efforts. Mother Earth opens her lands for you to walk your noble journey.
Blessing
Mountain Pride with noble beauty,
Teach me to honor my responsibility.
To walk my talk and with love impart,
To follow my journey,
A Path with Heart.
Talked with my friend Aleta again today and she had a further observation about the Sedna myth.
Sedna hangs on to the boat. She is forced to let go...and it is when she let's go that she discovers her own world.
This had me thinking all about the highest parts in our charts - the MC's vs the IC's. Perhaps we need to integrate these two. Instead of thinking that the 'climb to the top' (male energy) is what is valuable...maybe we need to value the 'descent into the unknown, darkness, other-world' in order to value the feminine energy?
There's stuff goin' on here man!
Reminds me of the beautiful Meditation: Secret of the Golden Flower (link below - I discovered it after I dreamed of a beautiful golden flower blooming) where you breathe in and imagine golden sunlight coming in through the top of your head (MC) and when you breathe out you imagine a dark river coming in the bottom of your feet (IC)! Wow. My synapses are snappin'!
I guess the more feminine of us won't feel freaked about the dark river coming in eh? But, really, how does that make you feel? And what is that saying?
Sun=Day/Brightness/What is Seen and Knowable
Moon=Night/Darkness/What is Unseen and Unknowable
I just realized something. Over in the C&A forum I posted about letting go, and here again you talk about it. I think it was Monday when I let go of some old personal stuff, like journals and old letters and things. How strange that I felt a need to do that right around the time Sedna was found. I think that night I actually found out about her. Hmmm...Actually I still feel a need to let go of even more old stuff. It just happens to be all packed away right now.
So perhaps letting go is a very valuable thing in understanding our feminine energy. Just like in the myth of Sedna. I like the ideas you and Aleta come up with. They make sense. And easy for a person like me to understand. I mean, someone who doesn't know a whole lot about astrology.
"So perhaps letting go is a very valuable thing in understanding our feminine energy."
YES....that is how I'm feeling too!
I read your post over on the C Forum and I was struck by the fact that the only other person I've ever known to burn their old diaries and letters was my friend who is a Red Serpent! ha. You are reeeally doing some clearing out!
And, you know fire is a symbol of Transformation...and you've got Pluto transforming your Sun pod right now...and fire sure is a large part of Red Serpent and that passionate energy!
Funny, my friend Astrid (Sagitarrius - you know I have this strange A and T thing with my friends! Soooo many of us have names that begin with A or T! Alison....you out there!?) is a Sagittarius and she has just begun her big transformation and she has dreamt 3 times already that her whole house burned down (Self) and that she felt fine about it...just let it burn. Wow.
Yes..I think it's quite apt that we chose to 'discover' Sedna right now!
WOW, I just discovered this website and your messages regarding Sedna...I was drawn to this new planet discovery and must have been meant to find your site! Tracey, your insights are incredible!! I don't know how long you studied astrology, but it must be a very long education!
My close friend reads the akashic records, and she's even channeled a symbol that you describe in your message as RAMBLING....her symbol is the tail of a whale combined with the glyph of the sign capricorn (Saturn)...Again, you are all amazing with this. THis same friend has introduced me to the book of Kryon. Again, this is all making sense to me now, as I try to heal and reclaim the true female energy within...it's been a difficult few weeks of lots of internal activity.
Anyhow, I look forward to reading more of your insights!
I have a Scorpio rising too! And three of my best friends are Scorpios...and one of them has a Gemini moon, too - like you. Neato.
Did you google Sedna or something? I was hoping to attract other like-minded individuals! My friends and I reeeally feel like Sedna is HUGE - a really amazing, intense and significant force/energy. It sounds like you feel it too!
You say that your friend has made a symbol for Sedna??? Or is it a symbol that you and she feel is related to Sedna? Whale tail?? OOoh....I'm not sure if I described in my ramblings about my dream and connection with whales? I must have eh? In that dream (oh god...I must have!! ...because I connected the Whale Tail (that was going to slap the water it was in hard) with Saturn because it was in a huge square body of water within a ship on a VASTER body of water) I don't have time to read through all these Sedna postings...did I mention my whale tail dream and Saturn?? (Saturn in Pisces - what year were you born in?)
And is her symbol a whale tail with the Saturn symbol (h like) or Capricorn's symbol (too complex to describe!) ? Very curious.
I have only studied Astrology since 1999 - but, man, I took to it like a fish in water and I *know* with all my heart that I was an Alchemist in Prague in the 1600's or so...so astrology has been ingrained on my soul. Back then I didn't use it in a psychological way, though....just as much more simple forces that would help my physical experiments.
Anyway! I have had an eye-opening experience about this Female Power/Energy/Intuition stuff too! Always worshipping the Male - even though I'm powerful in my feminine way...it's so ridiculous eh? Value.
Sedna! It has really begun...now that she has been 'discovered'! woooo.
Thanks for the reply! I was surpised to get one!
Funny there's a Scorpio connection too...but It DOESN'T surpise me! I did a yahoo search and your website came up!
It's funny you mention PRAGUE also...as I have a close friend/boss I've worked with for nearly 10 years who was born there..and he has Sun Gemini/Scorpio rising too! WEIRD. I was born in 1972...
I recently had a reading and dreams of a native american life I had in the Northwestern part of the US...so I guess the SEDNA native american connection must be relevant!
My friend's symbol (hopefully you'll understand)..the top is the whale tail, but the bottom is the older capricorn symbol (the loop). But her akashic records have been confirming the female power healing issues all along!
I'm trying to become successful at massage and other energy work, which has been a struggle for me the last year. I ran a chart with SEDNA and it's in 2° tau in my 6th house (conjunct my Mars in Scorpio). I guess I have some balancing of my female/male energy to do as part of this whole process!!
Anyway, it was great to meet you and hopefully we'll chat again. I'll check back for more of your great insights/discoveries.
The South American Quechua word for copper, "antis," and the South American Nahuatl word for water, "atl." Since "antis" is the origin of the word Andes, then we might suspect that the phrase on Hatshepsut's mortuary temple is the Egyptian name for Atlantis.
Books by author Dr. Paul LaViolette (search him on Google or at http://www.etheric.com) shows that the Sedna myth is a form of high scientific understanding of the cataclysms that ended the last ice age. While many of the flood myths link up across the ancient world, in particular, The Inuit legends and the so-labeled south american indians or Inca show a connection of traditions and culture over thousands of years passed down through legend.
Perhaps Sedna's long half a great year orbin shows the true history of humanity that goes back far far beyond the origins of western civilization. Western cultures are perhaps ready to shown that humanity is far old than what they believed.
My daughter Amira Senayet was born the day after Sedna's announcement. The planet is conjunct her midheaven in Taurus (one degree). It trines her Chiron in Capricorn/5th house (while Vesta conjuncts), sextiles Jupiter and Venus in Cancer/11th House, and semi-sextiles Saturn in Gemini/10th house and Moon in Aries/9th house.
Thank you
Tracy and Gracey, whose messages about Sedna, I have read so far. am most intrigued, at way back in '74 I began my studies with astrology and thought there'd be another planet. . . I also studied it until I came away with the idea, how can we possibly have life work for us on earth with such a helter skelter of house/planets assignments. and rearranged them in order. . .
well, recently I was perusing a copy of Susan Millers Planets and Possibilities, and while reading the history of Astrology, I got my trusty pendulum out and let it swing as I read. . .It was utterly amazing, at what it 'yes' and 'kNOwed', we'd better look further and deeper into this.
When I came upon the house and planet list. . .I naturally asked. . if the planets liked being assigned to the houses they were. WOW, only the moon and Jupiter, stayed put. and while we had Chiron in the picture, which assigned itself to Gemini amd this. . .only a week or two before Sedna came into the picture.
here with our list and yes, it still dowses the same.
Earth wished be assigned to Aries, Sun in Taurus, Chiron in Gemini. . what Sedna and Chiron, the GEMinI twins? ? ?
Mooon in Cancer, Uranus in Leo, Pluto in Virgo, Neptune in Libra, Mercury in Scorpio, Jupiter in Sagitarius, VEnus in Capricorn, Mars in Aquarius, and Saturn in Pisces.
when I read my own horoscope as such, twas like flying through all the objection for living the greatest version of our grandest visions. . . and in light of having all my wildest dreams and visions pale in light of the present I have been give
during the course of my life, so far.. .
ah, need to fly just now. . .more later.
Shawanikinabe. . .
it was a name which literally shot out of my mouth. . once, and came to read of carry on with the festivities of being showered with a present, we will all come relish in for the rest of our life.
