hi everyone...
my gums have been pretty receded for a while and, sometimes i would get these kind of vague "face aches" (vague pain somewhere between the front of my face above my upper lip and upper palate, to the top of my head) from them but i could cope with them as long as i maintained hygiene (something about brushing them usually relieved the pain)
...but now the pain is getting to be pretty constant - within one week of starting orthophosphoric acid (20 drops mixed into apple juice or ...ick, artificial, i know... crystal light drink mix, 2x day) to help with my liver flushing endeavors.
i HAVE taken care to brush my mouth (teeth, tongue, inner cheeks & lips, palate, etc.) with baking soda - gently - asap after every single drink (within about 1 minute, that's as quick as i can make it to the bathroom), and i thought i was protecting myself...
i'm now drinking it through a straw (trying to minimize the solution gushing over my front teeth).
*i did want to mention, a few months ago after i began oil pulling, i messed up and wore the enamel completely off one of my upper front teeth by brushing really hard with a paste of baking soda and Sea Salt with an electric toothbrush so maybe the pain could be coming from the general wear (not gums?) on that tooth? the current pain (as opposed to the past pain) i think is a little more on the left side where that tooth is.
i've otherwise had a positive experience with orthophos and would be sad to give it up, but, do you all think it's damaging my teeth despite the baking soda brushing ...or maybe it's just somewhat traumatic for my teeth because the dentin could be exposed due to the gums being a bit receded, but might stop if i stop the orthophos?
...or if you think i've done permanent damage already, can anyone recommend anything that, while nothing might be able to help restore my teeth, might soothe the ache?
*heavy sigh* ...thank you all for always helping, in my MISadventures in attempted wellness...
Medical use
Phosphoric acid is used in dentistry and orthodontics as an etching solution, to clean and roughen the surfaces of teeth where dental appliances or fillings will be placed. Phosphoric acid is also an ingredient in over-the-counter anti-nausea medications that also contain high levels of sugar (glucose and fructose). It should not be used by diabetics without consultation with a doctor. This acid is also used in many teeth whiteners to eliminate plaque that may be on the teeth before application.

Put in a search for "phosphoric acid dentistry" on the internet, and see what you come up with. If it etches teeth, it probably wouldn't be good for the teeth on an ongoing basis.
According to a report published in the March / April edition of General Dentistry, phosphoric acid in soda causes tooth enamel erosion, even with minimal exposure. While some consumers may believe that sugar is the only culprit of soda's adverse effects on dental health, enamel erosion occurs whether the soda is sweetened with sugar or artificial sweeteners.
Maybe you could find the General Dentistry article online.
thanks as always, j's mom! ;) ...though i was toying with the idea of making it ongoing, i haven't been on the orthophos very long (not much longer than the recommended prep for enhancing a liver flush) ...and i thought i was protecting myself by thoroughly brushing my mouth with baking soda right after every drink to neutralize the acid because i had read that baking soda, or even milk of magnesia, work to do that...
i'm definitely going to stop until (unless!) such time as i can find a way to be certain my teeth are protected, but i really hope i haven't done too much damage ALREADY...
i sure smiled when i read that you were out of time - i have to wonder how anyone can meet all their responsibilities when curezone is here with all its knowledge waiting to be discovered ...could read all day, every day! :)
...and for that reason (that you were short on time), i want to thank you so much for taking the time to gather up some info for lil' ol' me... i appreciate you!
off i go to take some possibly (probably?) liver-poisoning acetaminophen (*cheeky thumbs up!*) for the pain in my mouth ...*whimsical sigh, smile* :) ...talk to ya later! :)
good supplement for a lot of things -
from receding gums to expelling liver flukes.
I'm allergic to bees but I take it and the propolis doesn't
affect me in any bad way.
I've had difficulties with bleeding gums and have looked for solutions.
One thing I've found is flossing helps. Yup, at first it's probably going
to cause them to bleed somewhat but the gums will strengthen from this activity
and will eventually stop. Also, I've found that taking silica helps a lot
too. I take this both in the form of horsetail and diatomaceous earth and
am currently combining the two. If you get diatomaceous earth make sure
that it is food grade because anything else can do you harm.
Silica will also flush out any parasites you have in your gut and it also
goes into the bloodstream though I'm not aware of what type of effects on
parasites that it has there.
My nails and hair are much stronger since I began daily ingestion of at least
one tablespoon of the above.
Perhaps you aren’t looking for stronger or more resilient bones, cartilage,
teeth, nails or hair. Well, then consider that Europeans have been using
horsetail for centuries to resolve kidney and bladder complaints. Individuals
suffering from incontinence and bed-wetting have been helped by taking this
herb. Due to the astringent, antiseptic and diuretic qualities of horsetail, the
wound healing properties of silica are enhanced. Ulcers, whether in the urinary
tract, or in the skin, will repair more rapidly when this herb is used. Potter’s
Cyclopedia, a reference of botanical drugs and preparations, recommends
horsetail for cystitis, urethritis and prostatitis.
Now, as if the list of potential benefits isn’t long enough, there’s
more. Horsetail can also alleviate heavy menstrual flow and bleeding gums,
according to long-standing native uses.
Something that many people may not know is that the silica in horsetail also
acts on lipid metabolism, resulting in an anti-atheromatous action. Translation:
horsetail helps guard against fatty deposits in the arteries! Europeans have
been using horsetail for atherosclerosis for years.
In my practice, I find horsetail invaluable in combinations for toning the
urinary tract; supporting the heart and cleansing the bowel. This herb has
potential cleansing properties in addition to all of its healing actions.
Thanks for the info! Horsetail had been suggested to be before, and I had forgotten to look into it.
I learn something new here daily. Thanks!
BTW..bleeding/receding gums has been an ongoing problem of mine for the past year 1/2 too. I had to have oral surgery to have wisdom teeth removed at the age of 48, because they were staying chronically infected. There's alot of other factors that I know go together with mine though--I still have a mouth mess (crowns/amalgams), and Lyme coinfections hang out in the mouth/jaw area.
I had the deep pocket cleaning done (2 hours per 1/2 the mouth), and am supposed to have the cleanings done every 3 months to stay on top of it, but I wonder sometimes if that's actually helping, or making things worse. I don't think I'll have luck getting the problem to stop, until I finally am able to get something done with the dental mess.
I was just reading through the other forum you had cross-posted this message in, and it looks like we have alot of similaries with the amalgams. I remember having had 17 when I was a kid. Ate alot of candy, drank alot of soda.
If you've ever read the Hulda Clark book " The Cure For All Diseases ", she talks alot about the different kind of bacterias etc found under teeth, that also go with the metals.
There's no doubt that infections in the mouth, cause problems all through the body too.
I know also what you mean about the cost of going to a biological dentist to have the work done. With the 6 crowns that I have, and knowing the teeth underneath them were broken/cracked to begin with, and most likely have amalgams, I don't think I would even want to pay the expense of trying to pop them off and have them cleaned up underneath. My thought has been more what Hulda Clark says..to remove the teeth.
The regular dentist wouldn't consider having the oral surgeon also remove a long-time problem tooth that was next to one of the wisdom teeth. I can only imagine trying to convince a regular dentist, or oral surgeon, to take out 6 teeth with crowns...just because I want them out.
According to the regular dentist--these two exposed Amalgams are in "very good shape"..even though the teeth are a discolored gray color :(
I'm sure the chronic gum stuff has alot to do with what is going on with my liver and other organs though.
dear amy, thanks for your tip on bee propolis - that, along with the diatomaceous earth/silica that 107689 (thanks, 107689!) mentioned, i've wanted to try for a long time, just never have the money for all these things i want to try, but i'll make those a priority because, the headaches i'm getting from my teeth are distracting me all the time and starting to keep me from sleeping and i'm so dizzy (it's like, if you've ever bitten into a solid scoop of icecream and got a severe headrush - but ALL THE TIME)...
dear j's mom, i so empathize with your mouth situation! ...those of us who believe in alternative wisdom, it's like a WAR we have to fight with the establishment just to make the choices we feel are healthy for our bodies... i'm not sure whether you just recognized my post in that other forum or, pulled up the list of all my posts ...i kind of hope you didn't because, i'm really embarrassed about my many problems - AND i bet other people recognize my ID because i (feel like i) post so much about my different problems ...and these are actually just a fraction... i'm not doing that well right now ...just everyday activities are hard ...i hope that i'll be able to turn things around... i wish i could help with your lyme's disease ...*caring*...
for my teeth, i think it'll take years but i'm going to try to save up and someday travel to dr. behm to see if he can help me ...maybe you can save up too and we could go together for moral support! :)
Just recognized the post in the other forum you had cross-posted in (dental), and I could relate because of the amount of money involved...and then when I have my mind made up that if I could convince anyone to just take the teeth out instead of trying to get them clean-up'd..do I really want to be a toothless 50 year old :(
hi j's mom! thanks for checkin' in with me again :) ...how do you feel about dental implants - do you think they're a toxic burden on the body? i guess they are, but i'm trying to think of things for you because (not that there should be a stigma attached to being toothless - there shouldn't be ...sometimes that just happens to people! but...) you are still so young and have lots of livin' to do so you should be able to get to do it with healthy chops in your mouth! i am really hoping that biocompatible fillings will be decent enough for me, some years from now ...keep in touch, yeah? :)
hi, softtraveler - got a real kick out of your avatar! :) ...i'm not sure if it matters but i figure i should mention ...my gums aren't quite bleedy... i didn't always floss but do now, and (though i probably do have advanced gum disease from the past, i) only get a trace of blood if i floss aggressively)... for the past few months, i tried oil pulling (i've stopped for now because, it loosened one of my fillings, exacerbated an existing problem, and i wasn't sure whether it was benefiting my teeth or harming them), in conjunction with 400mg of coq10 everyday, Sea Salt and/or baking soda brushing, flossing and... my gums have a cleaner line of definition now ...i just look long in the tooth :(
(and i'm not sure if this is from regular receding or, an injury, but... ever since i was eating an apple one day a few months ago, the hard apple skin snagged on the upper INNER gums on the right side and created like a CRATER there and, it has not seemed to heal and, i feel like flossing makes it worse! *sigh* i wish there was something i could pack that area and all my gums with to help them regrow!)
in hindsight i did have some occasional sensitivity (now i recognize these "head rushes" and the dizzy feeling), but since the phos it's been awful... at first i took it in apple juice and drank from a cup, and then in that unhealthy crystal light drink mix (citric acid, etc.) and maybe it gushing over my front teeth while i drank was what did it... then i tried a straw, but eventually i went off it...
i have really made such foolish mistakes ...i could just kick myself...
i definitely want to try the miracle mineral soluton ( mms ) ...another thing to add to the ol' wishlist! :)
