I was speaking to a gal who practices chinese medicine devoutly and she shared with me that she is 48 years old with absolutely no symptoms of menopause whatsoever. Her secret? Chlorella. She takes 90 575mg capsules daily at this point and these were the instructions/directions she gave me:
Chlorella is a food. How much we take depends on the size and the health conditions of each individual.
Start with 2 or 3 tablets in the morning of the first day.
Gradually increase everyday until you feel the difference, i.e., your energy is higher, your bowel movements are better or looser.
When you feel the difference, stay at that level.
Once you feel that you get used to that amount, you could either increase the amount you are taking or stop for a few days. It is better to take chlorella with a fluctuating difference, as with any kind of food.
Chlorella is a green food. Some people need 60 to 100 tablets a day while others feel great on only 6 tablets a day.
She said many women in her community are using chlorella for infertility issues as well and calling them chlorella babies. Illness in our bodies ususally comes from toxins, Chlorella cleanses our systems along with nourishing us at the cellular level. My friend said things that don't genetically belong to you such as weight, illness, toxins will eventually disappear as they are not really a part of your genetic make up or they don't really belong to you.
This is all she takes along with fish oil to remain healthy and happy.
My dr. gave me chlorella in conjunction with chelation therapy to eliminate the heavy metal poisoning in my system. As with most dr.'s I have a list of numerous supplements that are supposed to help me. Not only is this expensive but it is confusing and much too time consuming. I've been gradually increasing my chlorella intake because it seems more natural and simpler. To be honest, yesterday was the first day in a year and a half that I actually could say I felt better and had some energy. My head was not in it's usual fog. I spoke to her about bio-identicals as well. She said she felt they were a quick fix and in time once my health was restored I probably wouldn't need them or as much of them once my system was functioning properly. Anyway, I thought I'd share this info with you and welcome your thoughts, comments. I will continue with the Chlorella and fish oil therapy for now. She also recommended some books on Chlorella which I am in the process of reading now:
Chlorella: The Emerald Food By Dhyana Bewicke.
Chlorella: Natural Medicinal Algae by David A. Steenblock, the president of the Aging Research Institute.
Chlorella : The Sun-Powered Supernutrient and Its Beneficial Properties by William H. Lee, Michael E. Rosenbaum.
Blue-Green Algae, Spirulina and Chlorella : The Tonifying, Nutritive, Detoxifying Green Wonderfoods (Woodland Health Series) by Rita Elkins.
Chlorella: Gem of the Orient: The Dynamic Food Discovery for Health & Healing By: Bernard Jensen
Chlorella, Jewel of the Far East: A Food Algae for a Nutritionally-Hungry World By: Bernard Jensen.
*I also asked her about spirulina and other green foods, she cautioned me that they should not be taken without the guise of an herbalist or chinese medicine doctor and that chlorella was the only green superfood that was safe, in any amount...even for infants.
