I make and use kombucha. I'm not able to take it in a normal sized dose. Its a powerful detoxifier and I still have lots of mercury in my body. Kombucha moves mercury faster than my body can handle.
The amount of alcohol in kombucha is pretty small. You should have from .5% to 1.5% alcohol depending on how you brew it. I don't know how this would affect cirrhosis. You may want to ask on the CureZone Experts forum.
I don't believe that kombucha will inflame candida. Kombucha has healthy bacteria and it will make your body more alkaline, so it should have a positive affect on candida.
Thanks for posting this info as it confirms something I just saw on the net yesterday, namely that one should go easy on Kombucha in mercury detox.
I had heard it detoxed mercury but never dreamed it was so powerful at that as to cause detox symptoms. I had been going by the "more is better" theory with Kombucha. Now I know, a little is better.
How can Kombuch make your body more alkaline, if it does, great, but the pH on Kombuch is around 3 acid?
I like kombucha but I notice that the color of my teeth changes overnight as I drink more than 8 ounces of kombucha. A body has many internal system to balance out acid/alkaline so that too much of either can harm a body. Like a pH under 6.9 acid can kill a person, so a body adjust it by neutralize the acid with calcium or other alkaline.
Can someone here confirm that kombucha does or doesn't leach alkaline from a body, or leach minerals from bones or teeth? I am curious to know what is the truth.
It's true Kombucha has a low PH, but that is what your stomach needs to digest food. The overall effect on your body is that Kombucha raises your PH. Check out The Truth in Medicine forum for a more scientific explanation.
"These acids keep the kombucha's pH level on the acidic end of the scale, anywhere from 2.5 to 6.0 (normal blood pH ranges from 7.35 to 7.45, while the stomach's pH is 0.9 to 2.0). As the product of a living organism, kombucha's composition is not standardized, but can vary with each batch. Reportedly, kombucha seems able to help balance the body's pH levels if they've become either too alkaline or too acidic. Lactic acid and the other acids apparently help rid the body of toxins that may be skewing pH."
