I read on page 1 of this forum about something I just read a few days ago somewhere else and that is the combination of MSM and Vitamin C being something to prevent hair loss and even make it grow. Apparently, the "side effect" of MSM is hair growth.
I've been trying to grow my hair down to my waist for the past 23 years. I've learned a few things from LongHairLovers.com that has really helped get me on the right track, but am still trying to figure out why the back of my hair has a slow-growing or breaking chunk.
I've been learning these past few days that antidepressants can cause hair loss and/or problems with hair growth. Yep, I've undergone some courses of those so I'm wondering if they're to blame?
Anyway, perhaps it's something for people to look into on their own, if they have the interest and the time -- MSM and Vitamin C for hair growth. I'm taking it myself now and will see if it helps.
Also, anyone specifically interested in long hair might want to check out www.longhairlovers.com for friendly advice from articles and message boards.
Has anyone else heard about the stuff I wrote in my post above, about MSM and vitamin C? Anything to add here? If it truly is something that helps hair growth it'd be great, as those are two items that aren't expensive and offer many other health benefits.
I've suffered from hair loss on and off for years and also have fibro. I'm on a message board for fibro and someone did suggest MSM. I just started taking it so I don't have any results yet but will let you know if I do.
I don't know anything about vitamin C and hair loss, though, I've never heard anything one way or the other.
I hope I didn't make things confusing. I didn't mean that Vitamin C is associated with hair loss. I meant that the MSM and the vitamin C are supposed to be taken together for maximum assimilation or something. I read that somewhere online.
