i have a male friend with very high bp, 192/122, i have no idea what this means i have only just found out he has a problem, he takes amlodipine and lisinopril, both 10mg, he takes these sporadically as he doesn't like tablets etc., he wants to give the natural way a try, i have read a bit and have told him to take mag/cal supplements, i don't know how much though, i think the ratio is 2mag/1cal. he smokes 2/3 cigs a day, he is a single dad so doesn't eat the healthiest of diets, both parents dead, mum, stroke, dad, diabetes, they died young, i've also told him to cut out all refined flour products, wether he actually does this will show me wether he is serious or not,. any help guys would be, as usual, gratefully accepted.
One of the most effective herbs I've used to lower blood pressure is celery seed, also celery juice. This is really effective at lowering blood pressure quickly. My daughter used celery juice and seeds when she was pregnant as her blood pressure went really high during her 3rd trimester, she didn't want to take any drugs or spend her days sitting on the couch. The celery worked very well and she managed to go full term with both children, without having to be induced early due to blood pressure issues.
Juicing celery stalks and leaves is easy and it tastes nice with a little tomatoe juice added, and my daughter liked to put some chilli in it too, but she was pregnant at the time, so chilli might not be to everyones taste.
(I kinda like it with chilli too).
thanks for that spud, he hasn't got a juicer, but i've just introduced him and his children to smoothies in the mornings,i suppose i could process some for him and mix with tomato juice, but minus the vodka...hahahahahaha!

if he is serious the first thing to do is make a concerted effort to hydrate.
remember, all health problems have the same genesis - lack of essentials + poisons. always start with the basics: oxygenation, hydration, mineralization and elimination. once those are covered and relief has still not been achieved, then we can talk about specifics.
I lowered my fairly high BP before I even learned of iodine or sski!
I strive to drink half my weight in ounces of pure (de-fluoridated and de-chlorinated) water daily. For every quart I drink, I also have a 1/4 teaspoon of Redmond's RealSalt.
