I am not sure why none of you have followed my advice. I have essentially been cured since late last year. I have had no significant problems. Each part that peeled has stopped peeling and only on occasion I get the hard buildup on the bottom right side of the lip but it doesnt peel. If anything it just flakes away.
Since I learned that the working out techniques which include hard breathing through the mouth three times a week I have not only beat this condition by tricking my body to regulate and control the lips itself but I have also gained muscle, gotten into shape, relieved most of my stress, and have been dating girl after girl (plus the kissing aspect is great). Something I missed for over 5 years.
You guys need to get with it. STOP putting everything on your lips and let them heal naturally. Hit the gym, try your own techniques, see what works for you. You ALL complain that leaving them alone does nothing. How long did you do it for. It took me almost three years for change to occur. Three years of leaving them alone. No NOTHING on them. Once they were better I found that the breathing techniques and working out help control the lips regulation. I found out that because my peeling process was a three day cycle every third day when they wanted to peel I would go to the gym and do my thing. I made sure I never missed a step. At the gym I would place so much pressure on the lips bc of the weights that somehow the lips naturally did not peel. They were hard. They went soft after the workout. It took about 4 months for this to happen. But now they are normal. I even missed the gym for two weeks when away on vacation and they didnt peel.
What do you have to loose??????????
Im not selling anything here.........
I'm pleased for you fella but what exactly do these "Breathing Through The Mouth" exercises entail? I really don't think I can leave my lips to heal naturally as after about 4 days I wouldn't be able to leave the house. I'm a teacher and can you imagine the children's reaction in that environment with me coming in with massive cornflakes of dead skin hanging off my lips?
Just also wondering what happened to cause your EC?
how in the world do you teach I cant go for 10 minutes of talking unitll my lips start butning and white gunk start forming and I have to to look at them for any cracking or peeling
Generally I have a full peel every 3 days. I use Batrafen and Dovonex in the morning in conjunction with a lip-balm. During the day I'll pop to the toilet during breaks to give my lips a quick rinse with water to rub off any dead skin which maybe forming along my affected line. I'll then re-apply balm / Batrafen / Dovonex. Whatever...
There are loads of different forms of EC on here. Some people have a huge affected area on both lips. My affected area is the bottom area of the centre of the top lip and a thin line right across where the inside of the mouth meets the outside. I can just about manage to hide it although a white line of dead sludge across the lip isn't that pleasant I can normally rinse this off before it becomes too bad...
Well, my lips looked like a disaster for years and everyone stared. I didnt care. I worked in a school too and the kids and parents always probably wondered what was happening. Funny thing is that the kids all had the same problems as us in the winter. It was as if they all had EC. So I wasnt bothered.
Dont know what caused mine but Id guess over use of chapstick and stress, and picking at them. The breathing techniques I just push all the pressure through my lips when lifting the weights. I direct it all there rather then to the muscles while concentrating at the same time breathing heavily and pushing out through the mouth.
If you know anything about exercise it is that you have to put the pressure from the weights somewhere. For example, when you are working your chest you want to focus on the different pec muscles and only lift up and down with those muscles. The reason people get injured is because the place the pressure on other areas of their body. For example, the may lift with the arms but put pressure on their back and therefore injure those areas of their body. It is common sense. That is why those people get injured and do not gain mass or muscle bc they do not lift solely with the muscle. However, even if you lift properly you have to exert the pressure somewhere. Some people push with their legs, some breath through their nose, some the mouth. If you focus the pressure solely on the mouth and lips, you can feel it. That is what I do.
Take this advice for what it is. Point is most of you on here are haters and immature. Im healed. Ive got no serious problems anymore. Im out of this forum for good. Just wanted to spread the news to you all in case some of you realize what I am saying and cure yourself.
This is a highly stress related problem. Find a way to relieve your stress. I did.
haha, that has been one of my points if you read my posts. yes humidity is a factor. for me i dont even have to work out when i go to a hot climate. every trip i have ever taken, whether for 1 week or 4 weeks, when hot and humid my problem goes away.
in august i was in peru. in cuzco my lips were bad because of the altitude and cold weather. they werent peeling. and all the people i was with had the same problems. it wasnt just me. then we traveled to the amazon in the north and it was 45 everyday. my problem vanished.
i live in one of the coldest places and have long dreadful winters. canada. i used to have to wear a scarf and all over my lips. last winter wasnt bad because of the workout routines. i didnt ever cover my lips cause they were normal. this year it is starting to get cold as hell and no problems. they are essentially normal. i do think however that if i stopped the workout in the winter they would regress.
Interesting, I live in Canada too and i have noticed my lips are better in the summer.
Could you explain what you have done other than breathing through your mouth?
I think he vanished along with his condition. Good evidence that either stress reduction or humidity, or a combination of the two can cure a lighter case of peeling lips. Good luck this winter!
