This huge 150#+ black lab male (fixed) very old dog came to the door the other day. He can barely walk and followed Trevor around the property until his hind legs gave completely out.
The neighbors have seen him for years and said if you don't look at him or feed him, he will eventually go back home, but no one knows exactly where he lives. He seems to be a house dog, because he shivers all the time.
Being fixed is the only reason my dogs allowed him on the property, otherwise they would have never allowed him to enter and he is the first strange dog in 12 years to make it past our house dogs.
After 24 hours of eating nothing, I figure this dog came to be healed, so I decided he can stay, as long as he is fasting with herbs....so today, he got my dog/cat formula 1 dropper in the mouth...it made him slobber and shake, but 15 seconds later he was wagging his tail at me. He started eating grass after 36 hours of fasting. I will give him herbs each morning he is here...I figure he will move on when he is done. He is very fat, covered in cancers and at least 15-18 years old at the least.
I will not feed him as long as he is sickly. Tonight he is walking much better. He desires company and comes to where ever your working. He needs a retirement home.....oviously he doesn't have enough attention at home, or he would not wonder the neighborhood for years. My dogs are thin and enjoy sleeping outside on the ice/snow, etc...it will be interesting if this big old house dog can adapt or if he whimps out and wonders back home.
In the country such things can happen, but if he happened upon some city slicker come country, they would call the dog pound and the dog wardened just open their truck door, puts a bullet in their rifle and shoots all dogs rather than take the chance of being bitten.
To me he is just a wondering fellow that came here as part of his travels and he is welcome as long as he desires to "fast" and give my herbs a try.
IF he heals himself, I might even allow him to hang out here for the winter.
If I get the camera out today i will take a picture of him. He is your typhical very old black lab, a huge old thing so fat he could barely walk, it is a wonder his hips have lasted as long as they have. Also what they call nodular cancers that all old digs develope from their commercial dog food diets.
He needs to drop 1/2 his weight...so if he hangs around here, he has no choice but to fast...so if he whimps out, he will walk back home I assume.
I'm interested that you mentioned that the dog was following Trevor. Is Trevor the cute curly haired one? The youngest one?
I have loved animals all my life, even when I was a small child, creatures would come to me easily - even more so now that I have more conscious awareness of them ... I get followed by other peoples cats and dogs a lot these days and instinctively, I know where to lay my hands on them to send energy.
I always say there are no coiincidences and that the dog was attracted to your home for some reason. He was following Trevor for a reason. Maybe you could get Trevor to lay his hands on the dog - don't tell him how or why, Trevor will know how to do it. Young children have naturally strong energy and if he is a joyful child, like he seems in the photos, then my guess is he will have a lot of healing energy to share with this dog.

YES, THAT OLD DOG FOLLOWED HIM UNTIL IT COULD NOT WALK ANYMORE. TREVOR FOUND A OLD FRISBEE AND TRIED THROWING IT AND THE OLD DOG MADE IT TO THE FRISBEE, PICKED IT UP, BUT HIS HIND LEGS FELL AND HE COULDN'T RETURN IT TO TREVOR, BUT I KNOW HE WOULD HAVE IF HE HAD BEEN ABLE.

YOU GIVE HER A CALL AND THEN SHE GOES WHAT SHE CALLS: "OFF LINE" TALKS TO THE ANIMAL OR HUMAN AS FAR AS THAT GOES AND ASK THEM WHAT THEY WANT OR THEIR PROBLEM IS".... I HAVE NEVER ASKED HER, BUT SEEN HER DO IT WITH TRENT OUR SECOND OLDEST.

THE DOG HAS ALLOT OF CANCER AND BONE DETERORATION AND WITH THIS FLUE THING GOING AROUND, IT IS PROBABLY BEST TO KEEP THE KIDS ON TOP OF THEIR OWN HEALTH FOR THIS WINTER...OTHERWISE TREVOR HAS ALREADY HANDLED THE DOG FOR A DAY OF PLAYING AND PROBABLY ALREADY HAS DONE WHAT YOUR SUGGESTING.

How I got the black lab I have now showed up at the door 10 years ago, was maybe a year old. I said I am not gonna feed it. After three days of waking up and the dog on the front porch figured it was here to stay. One of the best dogs I have ever had. Never had him fixed, and has stayed slim and trim all his life. Every other dog I had got fat when I fixed them. Must be something to do with the hormones.
this dog has been fixed for so long, that we literally were guessing if he was a she or he.....i mean he has virtually nothing left but a small hole to pee. i have never seen that before.
fOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON, THE PAST 3 FEMALE DOGS WE HAVE HAD, ALL HAVE REFUSED THE MALE DOGS 100%, WON'T EVEN ALLOW THE MALE STRAYS TO WALK ON THEIR PROPERTY....THUS NO PUPPIES.....
ALL THREE OF THESE DOGS HAVE BEEN RAISED FROM PUP UP ON OREGANO OIL AND NEVER SEEN A VET....I WILL BET THAT HAS ALLOT TO DO WITH IT; WHILE SICKLY MEDICAL FEMALES DESIRE SEX TILL THEY DIE.
I have had more kittens than you can imagine and my three female raw fed cats have never been to the vet. At a certain point you just have to do the evil deed rather than have three litters of kittens every six months.
