I’ve seen great benefits in my health from just taking herbs (many you also recommend). But I also seen many great reviews on other products, especially Coq10. What are your thoughts on it? If you’re over 20 and/or very active do you need to be supplementing with it?
The primary effect of CoQ10 in short is to raise adenosine triphosphate (ATP) levels. But CoQ10 is a very expensive supplement, especialy considering that you need at least 200mg daily to be effective. There are many other ways to raise ATP without the high cost that you are only paying due to the patent on it, not the cost of production. A simple method is taking magnesium malate and/or malic acid. Both magnesium and malic acid raise ATP levels. Periwinkle increases ATP to the brain. Suma can be used to increase oxygen utilization by cells increasing their ATP production. And milk thistle also raises ATP levels.
ATP is the fuel for our cells that allows them to function and to more importantly to function properly. I would go with the milk thistle seed. Bitters would also be a good idea to help support proper liver function. With a good diet and what you are taking you should be getting sufficient nutrition. Whether or not you need any additional nutrients would depend on if you have something you are dealing with. If you have a lot of stress then additional vitamin C would be good. If you have bone problems then silica and D may help. Etc. That is all I use is the seeds. But I get them already powdered. The seeds are much more effective than the foliage. But I have never tried tincturing them since I rarely use tinctures. I have obtained whole seeds in the past but never tried sprouting them either. I still believe the whole powdered seed is the best method of taking them since there is nothing lost as with tincturing, and there is a large surface area for easy assimilation. I do have allergies (which do go away when i take certain herbs). But the herbs get expensive so I was thinking maybe high dosages of whole food vitamins and minerals would help get rid of allergies. Or can my body only use so much? (I think my allergies are due to weak adrenals).
Weak adrenals are definitely the cause of allergies. Healthy adrenals produce sufficient quantities of antihistamine and anti-leukotriene epinephrine (adrenaline) and immune modulating and anti-inflammatory corticosteroids. This is why the most common treatments given by doctors for allergic reactions are epinephrine and steroids. They are substituting for what the adrenals are failing to put out in sufficient quantities. Also the reason that we are all exposed to the same allergens, but we don't all have allergies. If the adrenals are healthy and strong then they produce sufficient levels of these compounds to counter allergic responses. Look up some of my posts on building the adrenals.

Question about Coq10 and whole food vitamins

Dear Hv,
I’ve seen great benefits in my health from just taking herbs (many you also recommend). But I also seen many great reviews on other products, especially Coq10. What are your thoughts on it? If you’re over 20 and/or very active do you need to be supplementing with it?
Or would a healthy liver produce enough on its own? In which case would taking some healthy liver herbs like Milk Thistle and Dandelion be better?
I’m debating whether to take it as I’m active and heard a lot of good benefits.
What are your thoughts on whole food Vitamin and mineral supplements? If I eat healthy and take whole food powders with Green grasses (wheat, kamut, etc), bee pollen, Spirulina, msm, etc. (at least 20 grams a day) do you think it would be a waste of my money to also buy whole food vitamins capsules to take? What about whole food mineral capsules? Are there any specific whole food vitamins or minerals you would recommend extra of (C, Mag, B6, etc)?
Any advice you can offer is greatly appreciated.

Hey HV have you ever done anything with the seeds?I seen some at nutsonline and thought about sprouting them or making a tincture.After looking at the price I decided to pass for they are pricey.Thanks for your time.
