Does anyone have information about foods that might increase bowel transit time ?
Activia Yogurt that has been proven to increase the colons transit time helps me sometimes. Sometimes I have noticed that my low colon transit time is causing the constipation by moving stools slowly, making them bigger and drying out ( sorry for the description ).
Also, I know that wheat bran is proven to increase colon transit time but I can't find exact information on oat bran. When ever I consume large amounts of oats or oat bran I get constipation like it would slow the transit time tremendously, although I consume sufficient water..
Also, raw, unpasteurized saurkraut is a good source of enzymes, probiotics & fiber...can really help move the bowels along. I have also found that the probiotics that have bifidus in them help me move my bowels while others tend to constipate me. The one I'm currently using is by Nature's Way & is call Primadophilus Bifidus....maybe these things could help.
Have you ever tried kefir?
Kefir is a mild laxative when it is not too much fermented (24hours max). It helps me a lot. I drink a Liter of raw goat milk kefir every evening before going to bed. I go to the toilet every morning, and trust me before it was less than once a week.
You can also try water kefir.
They are both full of plenty of good bacterias. This is surely the best choice to build the intestinal flora.
