Just another form of....fingers in ears and la la la la.
The irony of someone in a belief system prison saying that I am not a "truth" seeker is quite silly. It's like saying one subject is the only subject out of infinite subjects and then trying to say that anyone that doesn't buy into that one subject is not a free tinker.
Perhaps you don;t know whether you are punched, reamed or bored.
I think not knowing whether one is a christian or not may be on the better side of things. Less of a lock down in the loop.
I find it quite amusing that some of the proclaimed christians in this forum and even one or two who aren't think we are mocking christianity. When we examine this belief system we just have to shine a light on it an its self mocking nature is brightly lit. perhaps a little satirical seasoning for extra flavoring for the full enhanced experience. People like flavor in their main meals too. ;-)
My other favorite line when christias get frustrated in trying to defend the undefendable is when they bring out the good ole stand by "don't cast pearls before swine." which I think should be updated for the modern christian soldier. Perhaps it may be better to spout off with something like..."don't cast insane, incoherent babblings upon those who are well beyond all of this."
Was that satire or just some ultra fine comedy while making the deeper point...again?
A child is walking down the street two men(A & B) are sitting on their porch sipping lemonade. They watch as a car jumps the curb and plows into the child.
And then drives off.
When asked by a police officer later what happened.
Man A states, "A car jumped the curb and hit the child."
Man B states, "The child jumped out into the street and bounced off the car."
Actually I used humor to demonstrate a larger point. There are infinite truths depending on what lens you look through or what station you're tuned into.
Try a brainstorm on this. See how many alternate answers you can give to the same question.
I try keep an open mind to the Christian philosophy and the possibilities of good that come from it. I see how people use it for negative purposes, just as they do with all the other concepts out there. Since this is a Christianity Debate forum I try to do my best to keep it within those confines.
Since you only believe in your own truth of perception I take what you say with a grain of salt, and call me in the morning.
I am interested in this thread because it brings up some past catholic memories. Catholicism was one of the pieces of my journey of the past.
Catholics are constantly put down by fundamentalists, who say catholics are not saved due many reasons, such as infant baptism, not taking the bible literally, not "born again" etc etc etc. I know this for an absolute fact, because when I was searching for answers, I went to other christian denominational prayer meetings and services. Many would make fun of and judge catholics, condemning them to hell because of these various reasons and then some.
(BTW, Mother Theresa was catholic, I wonder if she was saved??)
This thread talks about the little girl calling Jesus "Lord". Well, catholics call Jesus "lord" and they are supposedly damned according to the majority of this forum's participants.
My my my, how we bend and spin the rules. So let me understand this now....catholics call jesus "lord" but are condemned, but this little girl calls jesus "lord" and is esteemed and claimed by the fundies.
Im a regular Christian i guess you would say LOL :-), I'm not a Catholic but i also dont believe what you said about Catholics not going to heaven. I dont necessarily believe in certain traditions they do but i consider this small stuff and not worth arguing about. I look at them as my brothers and sisters in Christ. I think its these kind of hurtful things that push people out of the church, who needs satan when you got people. I think this is what happend to Innerclam, i dont blame him cause i had it happen to me. If you think about it we think we have God all figured out. In the Book of Job, God got pretty ticked off at people telling Job why bad luck was happening to him. It took Job to pray for these people to make things right. Figuring out God is like trying to tell a gnat how a 747 flies. So i dont really sweat the small stuff.
"Figuring out God is like trying to tell a gnat how a 747 flies. So i dont really sweat the small stuff."
Why then, are you here, arguing over a child's use of the word lord?
Without exploring the notion of god, and trying to figure it all out, how do you expect to learn anything? Do you merely believe what others tell you, as long as they fit the christian mold?
I would say that what MM was saying was in no way 'small stuff' to her. Dismissing it as such, trivialises her experience.
...what happened to inner calm was he decided to leave the box and stretch out of confinement. It was like leaving a thought form prison that works to bind the mind through twisted logic, fear drive ideas, and promises held out like a rotting carrot by a rotten, maniacal god figure.
Once outside the prison, I could get my bearings and finally see things for what they really are.
The difference between giving up Santa Clause and the biblical god character was that I actually respected Santa Clause. The other jerk was a psychopath. Good think it is fiction or we'd be screwed. ;-)
That's what "happened" to innercalm. He morphed out of inner turmoil and the resonance with a tumultuous belief system.
The bonus?
Now there are no middle men in my life. I can manifest and create direct without any lag.
Seems a lot of sweating of small stuff on this forum. In the grand scheme of things, what does it matter? I prefer the peace I have since I have walked away from religion, specifically christianity.
A few of us here have tried to explore a concept, and everyone takes it so damn personally. I would say that denotes "sweating."
One of the main things I noticed as a struggling christian was the total lack of harmony and the separation. When I started "shopping around" for the right denomination or "non-denominational church", all I could find was separation and hypocracy and certainly no harmony. All these people were supposedly under the same Jesus umbrella, but no one could agree. Plus there were hundreds, probably thousands of denominations. Conflict and disagreement and separation and condemnation and self-rightousness and and and and!! Hmm, what would Jesus think? I am a sensitive person by nature, and the red flags were flailing, leading my higher self outta there!
Hey MM, I want to say that I do not disagree with your findings of many of the churches out there today.
Christians want peace as much as non-christians....but again, the focus must be God to find the unity.
Twice a year our church invites all the surrounding churches to worship with us. We gather outside and share the unity of love in our worship. It does not matter what the small differences are between different denominations or non's.
The small differences are actually a good thing if you think about it. If we were all one big church....someone (a human) would try and rule us and tell us what to think. It is good that we have different churches and ideas...but the same first love.
"Christians want peace as much as non-christians....but again, the focus must be God to find the unity."
Perhaps that's the central problem since the creature in the bible referred to as god is suffering from muti-personality disorder. From there people tune into that aspect that they resonate with. From my vantage point most resonate with the fear mongering, love demanding psycho in the old testament. There are many flavors from that to choose too. When you have a scriipt that fractures and created separation, what else can be expected in those whop get swept up in the doctrine.
"Christians want peace as much as non-christians....but again, the focus must be God to find the unity."
Something rubs there?
Do you blame christianity as the reason there is no peace? Is it the reason you choose this forum instead some other religion forum to bring your satire?
Why is it politically correct to do what you are doing here and not spead the love around to other religious forums? I'm sure the Islam or Judaism Debate Forums would love for you to show up. (Just kidding Sara, I know better)
I'm asking you to think about how you are presenting yourselves here. How will this bring peace in a forum that is used for different christian denominations to debate and learn?
The correct forum for what you want to do is the Religion Debate Forum - All Religions or the Religion Hard Debate Forum. Why the moderator of this forum has not chosen to point the threads that direction is very interesting to note.

Christianity is the belief system with the most adherents worldwide, so to examine it is a good thing. As many of the people here have been directly effected by this belief system, we have as much right as you do to express our view of it.
It is also a belief system that is responsible for a lot of social unrest, war, oppression etc, in the world today, (as are other belief systems, but as this is the christainity debate forum, examining christianity's role in the lack of peace in the world is acceptable).
As this is a debate forum, your probably not going to find it a peaceful place , if thats what you want, then you would perhaps be better off posting in the Christianity Support Forum , after all, thats what Support Forums are for, you can discuss your belief systems with others that agree with your beliefs.
