When I was 15 my eyesight started to degrade. I was slowly losing my ability to focus on distant objects. The eye doctor recommended glasses, but said I could wait because my eyesight was only 20/30 (It had used to be 20/15 2 years earlier) In my case, it took me the next 4 years to get to the point where I was never bothered by blurry vision, now I am 24 and I have excellent eyesight. Everyone in my immediate family (parents siblings) are nearsighted.
I went on the internet and did some research, found lots of information, and mostly it was useless, but the most important things I found:
The cause of the nearsightedness was because I was spending too much time in school focusing on things too close to my eyes, and not taking any breaks. This is not a natural thing, and is not the way my ancestors (more than 2 generations or so) used their eyes. I started forcing myself to spend 30 seconds looking at distant objects (30ft or more away) for every 30 minutes focused on things 1-2 ft away. I started increasing the distance of what I looked at by as much as possible, sitting farther from computer monitors etc... This alone was not enough to cure my degrading eyesight.
I noticed some intriguing facts during this time:
1. If I used my fingers to squeeze my eyes (make them flatter) I could see in focus better (with added distortions)
2. If I didn't sleep one night, my eyesight was much better the next day (although my whole body was tired, my muscles were more relaxed)
3. If I close my eyelids and look at the sun for 10-15 minutes, my eyesight is improved right afterwards (this is still true even now)
I know these might seem pretty useless, but understanding the above and how the eye works was important to my success.
I learned about the 6 muscles in the eye. How 4 are used to aim the eyeball, and 2 more can actually rotate it (maybe 10-15 degrees) but more importantly combinations of these muscles can elongate the eyeball and make it possible to see things close up. There is no muscle to flatten the eyeball!
If you are nearsighted, your eye is like a worn out spring that won't go back into shape. So wearing glasses is like sticking a block of wood in there to make the spring long enough, but eventually just keeps making it shorter and shorter as you add more and more wood blocks. It is the wrong thing to do.
I found the body does have a mechanism to reshape the eye. It takes time. The way to do this is counter intuitive. You must try not to see. Train yourself to be content and happy with blurry vision. Do not strain your eyes (using muscles on the face around the eye to temporarily flatten the eyeball while straining the actually eye muscles even more) You are probably straining your eyes, and tightening muscles and do not even know it, and cannot even conciously control these muscles. Accept your crappy vision, and be at peace with it, because it will slowly improve.
Any muscle can be consiously controlled individually and separately from other muscles (even the heart, but I can only slow it or speed it) You must relax all the muscles in your eyes, even the muscles you might not know you had (if it weren't for modern science) Try relaxing your whole body, breath slower.. do not strain the eyes.
Your eyes might get worse before they get better. Do not expect improvement every day. Some days might get worse.. its like the stock market (ugh) if you are doing the right things, over time you will see improvements, but it can take years.
My eyesight started going about 1994-5, right about when I got my first computer. I think I've spent most every day staring at it since. Now I'm wearing a 2.0 to see distance, and 4.0 to read.
Reading is one of the two greatest pleasures of my life, and I cannot imagine life without it.
I remember having to stop and focus my eyes on distant objects at work to relax them, because I always had my nose in an oscilloscope or some other piece of test equipment. They used to hurt badly sometimes.
I used to always spend weekends in the woods every chance I got to recharge, and I have lost contact with that too in recent years...Another of my greatest pleasures :).
I think heavy metals play a big part in this. As they do in MANY MANY other health issues.
I stopped using aluminum based deodorant almost a year ago, and my vision is eagle eye sharp now(floaters are also less noticeable).
Mind you.. I have a very aggressive supplement/vitamin/mineral regimen.
I believe that omegas and Vit d play a huge role also. As well as high dose magnesium + Iodine supplementation.
That makes good sense and this is a great thread. Thank you for adding your experience to the posts.
Could you please be more specific about your aggressive supplementation routine? Maybe post it, if it's not too much trouble?
Especially, how high and in what form of Magnesium and Iodine, how much vit D and how much of which Omegas?
Also, I hope you don't mind, your approximate age group?

My regimen could be considered "irresponsible" and so forth. But I LOVE to experiment.

Ran out of coq10, not really missing it
9-stage reverse osmosis re-mineralized, HALOGEN free water
400-800mcg selenium
Now.. here's the biggy... I get about 300mg of iodine/dide daily.. I loves my 15% lugol's...
These are my majors.. I take NAC and L-glutathione as well (recently, past 2mnths).
I should note that.. I don't touch HFCS, sodas, colas, silicone food additives , gmo's(as much as I can), fluoridated water, enriched/white flour, White Sugar , aspartame(and its spin offs), hormone/steriod modified meat, COFFEE(big one, makes you acidic).
I'm a big meat eater. I go for farm raised free range meat. The butchers in my area get their stock from the Amish... Good quality.
Now, I believe that bromide and fluoride detox are absolutely paramount to your health. Since I started supp'ing with iodine, I've lost a tremendous amount of gut fat. My skin... Well.. I'm 26 in July. I can be mistaken for under 18..
I should note that I have morgellons too.. And I've made it my bitch...
The caps I take are 500mg (after malic acid intake).
It's quite a high amount I know, but it evens out with the potassium I get from the Iodine I supplement.
Most of the supplements I take.. their doses are based on how I feel after.
Certan supps, like Mag and VitC/D... Can be had in huge doses with little worry, and mild side effects like diarrhea(mag and c).
Also, I have read certain things about certain supplements, and our current climate.
Magnesium is a big one. Tons of north americans are deficient on it. Usually I can feel when my body wants more too.
