About a year ago I went raw vegan and did lots of juice fasting and wheatgrass. I was starting to have lots more energy. Now, I've done a number of liver flushes before with no problem, but after a few months of eating mostly raw foods, I did a wheatgrass fast (for one day) followed by a liver flush.
It messed me up royally. Horrible depression and my health deteriorated profoundly afterwards. I didn't dare flush again. I slowly have gotten a bit better, but have yet to feel anywhere as good as I did when I first when raw vegan.
But now after (foolishly) listening to a practitioner who told me that if I didn't get red meat in me I was basically committing suicide, after four days of eating red meat and eggs, my health has permenantly gotten worse.
I can tell that my liver is congested. I know for a fact I have a severe parasite infection (which I am now treating). I know I would really benefit from a clean liver. But is there any other less evåsive way to clean it out without doing the standard Liver Flush everyone talks about on here? I cannot risk feeling the way I did after the last one. It lasted for months!
I'm thinking about Dr. Richard Schults' herbs. This cleans out the liver and parasites at one time.
I'm also going to do a 7 day juice fast with wheat grass shots taken daily along with veggie juice. This should clean out my liver, too, right?
It is not always easy to keep your body balanced. And it is even more difficult to know what went wrong.
Just blaming it on the liverflush might not be the answer, your body might just be reacting to food that you don't eat enough or eat too much. Especially since you had sucess with the liverflush before.
It sounds you are using a lot of wheatgrass. I know it is beneficial according to a lot of people, but once in a while you read the opposite. Like everything else on the forums, many different views.
You can see if you can get some info by typing in google search at the top of the page: ask andreas wheatgrass.
The only way to get the stones out is the flush. The problem is you don't know if you keep flushing if you would not feel better. You need a professional for this advice.
I know for a fact it was the Liver Flush that was the catalyst in making my health worse. I was eating a clean, intensely restricted diet of raw veggies. That's it. I've never reacted to any of these foods ever. I was feeling GREAT for months before the flush, and HORRIBLE for months directly following the flush.
The day following the flush I felt suicidal. So I had a colonic and saw tons of stones come out of me into the bowl. The depression lifted significantly directly following the colonic, but I still never made it back to what I was like before the flush.
I'm thinking I should have parasite cleansed before the flush. I know for a fact that I have a significant parasite problem. I am taking the herbs now. Do I dare try another flush in a few weeks after being on the herbs???
Give the parasite herbs enough time to kick all those little non-rent paying buggers out and then give flushing another chance or three (to get the last remaining ones OUT of your liver, too.)
I agree with what Hanna said. I wouldn't necessarily blame it on the flush. And one thing I've found to be true in my life.... and heard from other people.... is that the worst thing you can do is STOP flushing before your liver is WAY better (not necessarily 100%.... but healthy enough to maintain itself). If a person flushes on a regular basis.... you are going to have some flushes that make you feel better and some that seem to make you feel worse. But that's part of the process... and if you stop, it can often be worse than if you'd never done one at all... you've "stirred everything up" but not gotten it all out. As for a "less invasive" type of cleanse... I've tried them all.... every liver protocol and product and herb and supplement you can name and none of them did anything compared to a flush. In fact, they can make things worse, because something like Artichoke for example can increase bile flow, but NOT get the toxins/stones/sludge actually OUT of your body and you'll end up feeling worse. This is just my 2 cents and everything is different for everyone.... so trust how YOU feel about it. Hanna suggested talking to a "professional" and I would agree.... but in this area (liver flushing, etc.) I don't really think there IS such a thing as a professional. The closest you are going to get is someone who has done a lot of flushes themselves and learned by trial and error. Even then, they can only tell you what it was like for THEM. Trust how you feel.
I hope some of this helps and you feel better.
Artichoke extract, Milk Thistle, AND Swedish Bitters made me feel horrible and made my symptoms much worse. Too many toxins were released in the blood and my liver was so sluggish from all the congestion that it couldn't clean my blood very well at all. All those toxins just kept circulating and re-circulating.
With some flushes you'll feel much better, with some, much worse.
One thing though....I would consider Andreas Moritz a "professional liver expert" and he is right here at Curezone!:-)
Have been doing lots of reading on this site in prep for my own cleansing regimen. In searching for liver/gall cleanse I found this "Classic Coke" cleanse! UNREAL
In your post you said "you'd tried them all"...how about this one? Would love to find someone who had tried it & know if it really works. I'd like to find something simpler than the traditional cleanses I've been reading about :-)
I've done about 9 liver flushes with good results. I never did the ES, instead always opted to do a coffee enema the following morning to remove toxins and stones. I have since learned that instead of doing a regular flush I can do a coffee enema and while retaining it I elevate my hips on some pillows and lay on my right side and I get out as much junk as I did with the flushes so thats what I've been doing, lots easier. I always follow with a couple warm water to make sure all toxins and stones are out. Might not work for everyone but seems to be for me.
Hi there,
Thanks Deb for telling us about your experience with the caffeine enema?
I am alittle frustrated so I appreciate the alternative to the ES/OO/Grapefruit flush. I have done 2 of the above liver flushes - I have felt some relief but not lots of stones. I have to find something to get rid of the stones since my CAT scan showed a packed gall bladder! Any way my results from 2 liver flushes: first time around - lots of brown sludge and second time - blackish sludge.
I am ready to try the coffee enema but just want to ask again - did you pass stones using the enema? I understand the logic behind wanting to stimulate bile production but really want to pass stones.
Yes, I usually get stones with the coffee enema if I elevate my hips like I said. I use a 2 quart bag and retain half for 10 minutes then release and then do the other half and retain for another 10 minutes.
The stones I get now aren't as large as when I first started flushing but the last 3 or 4 flushes the stones were smaller and not as many. I've been doing coffee enemas for a year for health reasons and read about someone here that elevates their hips during a flush and got good results so I decided to try it for a coffee enema and seems to work well for me.
Do you use anything to help soften the stones to help them release? When I flushed I would take malic acid for about a week before. Others here use Gold Coin Grass, never tried it. If you decide to give the flush another try definitely use a straw for the OO/GFJ, it really helped me get it down, plus I would hold my nose and suck on a peppermint candy as soon as I was done drinking. Whichever route you go I wish you well.
