To anyone who knows anything about blood sugar and juice!
I'm type 1 diabetic doing the IP (as I mentioned in precious posts).
I'm having a lot of trouble with my blood sugars. I got them to stabalize overnight for the most part which is good, but I am getting a low BS everynight.
I've figured out a way to get my juices in better, but I'm only doing 4 ounces at a time to try to keep the sugars down. Basically I take my IF#2 and superfoods in water, then drink the juice after (4 ounces undiluted). then drink more water. I think i was having trouble drinking the juices because they were diluted in water, so i figure they can just dilute in my belly.
Anyhoo...I'm still trying to keep my fruit juices low...this morning I did two juices so far, each about an hour apart maybe. 1/2 an apple in each, carrot, some kind of green and half a lemon. The problem is my sugar jumped to 375 and that was with a little insulin supplementation. ugh. WAY too high. Making me feel like crap. with it running this high I almost wonder if I'm hurting myself more then helping with everything else I'm doing. The only thing I did differently today is that I didn't do the liver flush this morning due to the fact that I'm going to do the big one tonight. I also haven't had any detox tea, but I am having the tincture...I thought the detox tea would be bitter and and i should try to avoid bitters today before the flush.
Anyhoo I don't know how much you know about insulin so I just wanted to run say How I use mine and then maybe someone will have an idea or something =)
I take two shots a day of a basel insulin...one in the morning and one in the evening that keep me at a steady sugar level all day. Then I take a bolus insulin...a short acting one whenever I eat food. I have begun taking some of the short acting with the juices. The other thing that I'm not really sure about is I only seem to go really high in the day around noonish...then I give myself an insulin correcting that and the blood sugar comes down very quickly, and often I get low blood sugar. I almost feel like maybe it would come down itself without the extra insulin, but having it spike to nearly 400 isn't good. not sure what to do here!! Also usually once I get past that middle of the day high I usually stablize pretty well.
Thanks again everyone who has any advice...sorry for all the millions of posts, just trying to get all the info I can.
p.s. i'm even afraid of juicing now. So much fructose. And I'm afraid you've been scammed. We're talking moderate levels of NATURAL sugar here. Even though "sugar feeds cancer", both Dr. Christopher/Schulze allowed 'full fruit natural juices'. Dr. Christopher's IP didn't even give the option! A week on carrot; a week on apple; a week on GRAPE! (this is because natural sugar is normal & healthy). Dr. Gerson used carrot/apple, carrot, and mixed greens (with/out carrots & apples) and you could stick to just those if you're worried. BUT, if you 'chew your juices' like Dr. Christopher recommeded http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1460306#i (thoroughly mixing the juice with the digestive enzymes in the saliva, hence breaking down the sugar before it ever even reaches the stomach), he found that his patients with both high or low blood sugar...?...had NO fluctuations in blood sugar after thoroughly chewing their juice! Of course, you can always dilute the juices with a bit of water, too :) Read (or reread) this: JUICE-FASTING: The POWERFUL healing therapy!
You should try chewing your juices before you swallow them like Dr. Christopher said. I'm sure Uny will pop in and answer more fully.
Below is another post about chewing juices and diabetes.
Dr. Christopher claimed that every patient he had that was hypoglycemic or diabetic had virtually no substantial fluctuation in blood sugar if they would "chew their juices" before swallowing...because the digestive enzymes in the saliva would break down the sugars to a form that didn't cause the blood sugar levels to be adversely affected.
Thanks Willow and Ginger,
Uny did mention chewing my juices...I had kinda forgotten to do that...The first four days I was severly nausious and I pretty much chugged everything down and it was my only method for keeping things in. Also the juice mixed with superfood and IF#2 made it even harder to take. Today I'm doing a lot better (nausea wise) and realized the benefit (for me) of doing superfoods and IF#2 with water and just drinking the juice after undiluted, followed by more water, so I think I will be able to chew them better. I will deffinitly do that now.
It's just scary having them up so high, I usually have pretty good control and I get all weird and fainty feeling with them bouncing around.
Thanks again!
