The cell wall has been cracked to make the nutrients more available and increase its digestibility. Alfalfa, Barley and Wheat Grasses These are the Vitamin / Mineral herbs. They are mildly cleansing and the greatest sources of nutrition of any grasses. Grain grasses are more potent than the grains themselves, offering us a rich array of vitamins, minerals and chlorophyll. Purple Dulse Seaweed Seaweeds are the richest source of assimilable minerals on the planet. They contain all the minerals and trace minerals that are found in the oceans and the earth's crust. We chose Purple Scandinavian Dulse because it has the highest mineral concentration but also taste bland. Many seaweeds taste fishy and are offensive to vegetarians Beet Root and Spinach Leaf Beets and Spinach are some of the richest, most assimilable sources of organic iron. Beets, being a root vegetable and growing underground, change inorganic raw elements into plant minerals, that are useable by us. Spinach is a rich source of calcium, iron and vitamin K. Both of these plants are famous for their blood building ability. Rose Hips. Orange and Lemon peels Revered as some of the best sources of vitamin C these fruits are also a balanced C-complex source. They contain bioflavonoids, rutin, hesperidin, calcium and all of the trace elements that are now known to be necessary to assimilate vitamin C. The citrus peels are also one of the highest sources of pectin which has been proven to remove heavy metals ( mercury, lead, etc. ) from the body, even remove radioactive contamination like strontium 90. NON-Active S a c c h a r o m y c e s c e r e v i s i a e Nutritional Yeast This yeast is grown on beets and pure molasses. It is the second highest source of complete protein in nature, (50%), and the richest source of B Vitamins. It is also a rich source of Iron and many other minerals. The yeast we choose is heated high enough to absolutely destroy any yeast activity, but not high enough to lessen the B Vitamin content. It is totally NON active and safe for patients with Candida albicans or on yeast free diets. 2 level Tablespoons of the SuperFood, added to your favorite juice or blender drink, gives you 2 to 5 times the vitamins you need for the entire day. What's even better is that you can assimilate these foods so easily, the nutrients can enter your bloodstream going to work within 15 minutes. Therapeutic Action: If you are seriously ill, you are to discontinue food immediately. You will be drinking one gallon a day of water and fresh juices. No food. In any case, in far less serious cases, fast at least one day every week. Also, drink at least 8, if not 16, ounces of fresh carrot juice daily. Carrot juice is an excellent source of absorbable calcium. You need a lot of nutrition to heal — but you don't need it from potatoes; you don't need it from heavy grain dishes that take you 6 hours to digest. And all that blood and energy is going to your digestive tract. JUICES ONLY - during the most critical phases of healing. Once you are off 100% juices, you will be eating a 100% total vegan raw diet. This includes all vegetables, fruits, raw nuts and seeds, and soaked and sprouted beans and grains. Eat fresh organic produce that is locally grown and in season. The only liquids are distilled water (never make herb teas without it) and herbal teas (non-caffeine) and fruit and vegetable juices. The only precaution is that some sick people have to be careful with fruit juices — not to get too much sugar. I myself use only a tiny quantity of fruit juice combined with a lot of water. No alcohol, coffee, black tea or sugar. No animal flesh, eggs, milk or milk products (cheese, yogurt, butter) can be consumed. No cooked foods (bread, baked potatoes, tofu, etc.). Eat only fresh, organic produce that is grown locally and in season. Now we come to the herbal nutritional program. Dr. Schulze doesn't believe in vitamin pills. Dr. Schulze, "These are chemicals, not foods. For example, did you know that niacin is made from boiling sulfur in the presence of asbestos? And vitamin B-12 is made by using treated sewage sludge as a raw ingredient. Can anyone really call this natural healing?" Here is a formula for superfood. You take 4 tablespoons a day, two tablespoons in the morning, and two in the evening. The ingredients are: spirulina, chlorella, alfalfa grass, barley grass, wheat grass, purple dulse seaweed, beet root, spinach leaf, rose hips, orange and lemon peels and non-active nutritional yeast. If you are missing any of the ingredients, just do the best you can. Use whatever is available to you. The best food yeast to get for making your own superfood is called, "Red Star T-6635 #12 Large Flake." This is food yeast that is grown on beets as a food source. If you are under a great amount of stress, you can increase the amount of superfood per dosage, and you can take the increased dose four to six times daily. The food yeast in the superfood will give a lot of energy that can lift depression and often reverse symptoms of neurological damage. You can make this yourself or purchase it. Make the following nutritional drink: 8 ounces of fresh-squeezed fruit juice, or less if the sugar content does not agree with you. Some people may find apple juice suits them better than citrus juices, and is less drying to the skin. 8 ounces or more of distilled or pure water. 1/2 to one cup of fresh seasonal fruit. 2 ounces of food mixture from above recipe. If adding fruit to a superfood mixture gives you too much sugar, you can mix the superfood in water, or in carrot or other juices. Dr. Schulze: My wife noticed that her skin got too dry on the vegetarian program, so she learned that she could add two tablespoons of flaxseed oil to her superfood drink. It worked. She also put castor oil on her dry, cracking hands, which helped also. One minor problem with adding any oil to superfood is that it can make some people sluggish. You may have to take the flaxseed oil in the evening, when any energy loss wouldn't matter as much. Another possibility is to add ground-up flax seeds to your superfood drink, instead of flax oil. Also, because of differences in metabolism, some people may do better on different oils. Flaxseed is not necessarily the best for everyone. Dr. Schulze: I myself prefer sunflower seed oil. Also, my wife noticed after several weeks that she was getting somewhat depressed on the program. Since she was not ill, she learned that she needed to add some beans and more calories to her diet, and since winter was coming, she needed a slightly heavier diet to help her adjust to the cold weather. Salads and fruit were no longer enough, as they were in summer. This solved the problem. Getting well is just a matter of stopping what you did to make yourself sick and beginning a few new programs that will encourage health. All disease is caused by some type of blockage, whether it is circulatory, lymphatic, digestive, nutritional, elimination, emotional, whatever, free the blockage, let the energy flow, and healing explodes. Considerations / What Can I Expect? Adjust your food program as your body cleanses / rebuilds /restores. Develop a food program that will keep you healthy for life: Dr. Schulze’s “Health Building” Food Program: Don’t eat ANYTHING with a Face on it. Learn to become a vegan. Learn to use spices, herbs. Use lots of garlic and cayenne! Have fun.. Once every ‘season’: Eat only raw food for a few days, then; Juice fast for a few days, then; Eat only raw food for a few days, then; Go back to the Health Building food program of vegan eating To learn more about the Health Building Food Program, listen to the Natural Healing Crusade video: Move your body every day. Sources: Carrot Everybody knows that carrots are good for you, but you might be surprised at how many different uses they have. Carrots can aid in healing vision problems, tonsillitis, colitis, appendicitis, anemia, gravel, acidosis, blood poisoning, faulty circulation, ulcers, rheumatism, indigestion, poor teeth, acne, adenoids, and cancer. IMPORTANT NOTE: Carrots alone, or any other herb, will not heal any of these diseases. Carrots, in addition to a healthier lifestyle, can assist your body in healing. VISION: We have all heard that carrots are good for the eyes – but do you know why? Carrots contain beta-carotene, which converts to Vitamin A in the body. Vitamin A helps vision by forming a purple pigment that the eye needs in order to be able to see in dim light. The pigment, called rhodopsin, is located in the light-sensitive area of the retina. The more Vitamin A you get, the more rhodopsin your body is able to produce. People who suffer from night blindness would benefit from the use of carrots on a regular basis. TEETH, BREAST MILK QUALITY & PUERPERAL SEPSIS: R. Walker explains in his book, “Fresh Vegetable and Fruit Juices” how valuable raw carrot juice is for the bone structure of the teeth. He also recommends that nursing mothers drink raw carrot juice to enhance the quality of breast milk. He says that in the last months of pregnancy raw carrot juice taken in sufficient quantities would tend to reduce the possibility of puerperal sepsis (also called childbed fever) at childbirth. He states that, “One pint of carrot juice, daily, has more constructive body value than 25 pounds of calcium tablets.” INFECTIONS, NERVOUS SYSTEM & VITALITY: Walker also refers to carrot juice as a natural solvent, useful in ulcerous and cancerous conditions and goes on to say, “It is a resistant to infections, doing most efficient work in conjunction with the adrenal glands. It helps prevent infections of the eyes and throat as well as the tonsils and sinuses and the respiratory organs. It also protects the nervous system and is unequalled for increasing vigor and vitality.” DIGESTION: Steve Meyerowitz talks about carrots in his book, “Sproutman’s Kitchen Garden Cookbook.” He says that including whole carrots in our diet is a balanced way to approach the fiber verses no-fiber issue. However, he says that “juice frees the vital nutrients in plants and makes them readily available for digestion.” Carrot -- Part II -- Liver Cleanse by Norma Cook, MH It has been said that too much carrot juice turns the skin yellow/orange. However, it is not the carrot turning the skin yellow/orange but the release of bile. R. W. Walker states: “Intestinal and liver diseases are sometimes due to a lack of certain elements contained in properly prepared raw carrot juice. When this is the case, then a noticeable cleaning up of the liver may take place, and the material, which was clogging it, may be found to dissolve. Frequently this is released so abundantly that the intestinal and urinary channels are inadequate to care for this overflow, and in a perfectly natural manner it is passed into the lymph for elimination from the body by means of the pores of the skin. This material has a distinctly orange or yellow pigment and while it is being so eliminated from the body will sometimes discolor the skin. Whenever such a discoloration takes place after drinking carrot or other juices, it is an indication that the liver is getting a well-needed cleaning.” Allopathic doctors speak of a condition called Carotenosis (yellowing of the skin) in “The Doctors Book of Food Remedies” as a harmless condition, remedied by stopping the ingestion of carrots for a while, until the skin returns to its natural color. They state that this has been reported by and is seen most often in children who have been fed a lot of pureed carrots. However, Dr. Walker states, “It is NOT the carrot juice itself nor the carotene that comes through the skin, as this discoloration will take place even if the juice is filtered to the point of clearing it of all the color pigment. It is just as practical an impossibility for the carrot pigment itself to come through the skin as it would be for the red pigment of the beet to turn the body red or the chlorophyll of the green vegetables to paint the skin green from within.” Jaundice is defined in the “Prescription for Nutritional Healing” as a yellowing of the skin and eyes that is caused by a buildup of bilirubin in the blood. Bilirubin is a yellow-brown substance that results from the breakdown of old red blood cells. If the waste product is not removed from the bloodstream by the liver, as it should be, a backup of bilirubin in the blood occurs, producing a yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes.” …”Jaundice is not a disease in itself, but a sign of any one of several blood or liver disorders. Among the conditions that can cause jaundice are cirrhosis of the liver, pernicious anemia, hepatitis, and hemolysis, or some type of obstruction in the path of the bile flow.” With regard to Jaundice, Dr. Christopher reminds us that the liver is the main seat of the problem. The bile does not excrete properly and is passed off into the blood stream and the body tissues, causing a toxic condition (called cholemia) causing indigestion, sluggishness, fatigue, constipation, upset stomach, chills, vomiting and fever. The stools become light clay or chalky color, the skin takes on a gold cast, yellow shows in the whites of the eyes, and bile deposits in the skin cause itching. Carrot juice will bring the skin from clear to yellow (as the liver clears) and then back to normal, which is a sign that the bile is now cleared and flowing properly into the intestinal tract…” Dr. Christopher advised to proceed with caution since rapid unloading of toxic bile may upset the body and induce vomiting as well as turn the skin extremely yellow. The carrot may be juiced eaten whole, raw or cooked. The juice is preferred, as the healing factors are sufficiently concentrated to supply the system with what it needed. If juiced 1-6 pints a day of the juice may be taken orally, or as a wash or in a poultice form externally. R. W Walker states that raw carrot juice may be taken in any reasonable quantities from one to six or even eight pints a day. This has the effect of helping to normalize the entire system. It is the richest source of Vitamin A which the body can quickly assimilate and contains an ample supply of Vitamins B, C, D, E, G and K. It helps to promote the appetite and is an aid to digestion.” One of the juice choices on the Three Day Cleanse created by Dr. Christopher is carrot juice, where one drinks a glass of carrot juice every waking hour for three days. He also includes it in the Incurables Program as a possible juice choice for a week, drinking as much as one desires of the fresh juice daily for 6 days.
