I know you don't like enzymes, but I recently went back on them (Digest Gold) to see what would happen. I had been having problems with stools being too floaty and too shiny, and with being gassy, so I figured I was having trouble with digesting fats. After a day on the enzymes, I had stools that mostly sunk, and were not "glistening". :)
However, I understand the concept of not taking them in order to have your own body try to produce them. So, I have been diligent with bitters now since about March or so, and had dropped the enzymes. I started out with the Sweetish Bitters and then switched to the grape bitters you suggested, which I agree work better for me, at the start of May. Soooo, I like and apparently need what the enzymes are doing, and hesitate to stop taking them because my body did not seem to work right in that respect even with 4 months of bitters alone. If my digestuon falters, candida tends to creep in. What would you suggest in this case? Thanks in advance!
Have you tried taking lecithin granules and more fiber to increase your bile production? Bile is required for the proper digestion of fats. Fibers are needed for bile production as is lecithin, which makes up the majority of bile and is what actually allows bile to be an emulsifier.
Hi. Well, yes and no. I tried a couple of years ago to add in lecithin, but my impression of it was that it made me feel worse, so I did not continue. I could try again and see if perhaps it was something else I inadvertantly ascribed to the lecithin. Also, I used lecithin caps, because when I was a teen, I got the sick immediately after eating a dose of lecithin granules. Turned out I had the flu, but now lecithin and vomiting go togther in my mind, so every time I even think of lecithin granules, I get queasy. :) I can try and overcoem it. . . Fiber is difficult for me in some senses, in that I react to almost everything once it is in a flour or fine-particle form, such as brans. I have a wheat allergy, too. What I do, though, is eat a LOT of veggies. Cooked and raw. I also eat legumes and potatoes and sweet potatoes. I thought my bile was ok because my stools are properly colored brown, but maybe that is not an accurate measuring tool? Thanks!

You can always resort to eating egg yolks or dandelion flowers, which are even richer in lecithin.

Rice bran and oat bran can be easily mixed in oatmeal or apple sauce. Great way of hiding the brans.
