When we are exposed to something we might be sensitive to, our body's histidine levels (natural anti-histamine) should rise.
Since they do NOT in people who are Iodine deficient, most must rely on crapola like Benedryl and Claritin.
At the age of 53, I can now hold an adorable baby kitten up-close-and-personal without ending up sick in bed for a week relying on inhalers created for asthmatics and, oh what is the term now? People with COPD.

Personally, I could give the credit to people*, but since I know I prayed the night before, it was GOD who worked through them. They were just instruments of whom God used the brains to find the info and the fingers to type it out.

Ok, i didn't get it (does Iodine helps with intelligence issues? LOL!)
Does iodine help with allergies? Because i have cat and mold alergies. I love cats and i live in a humid place.
with heat, and a bit of weakening of the skin near the sting that got itchy. Also, the whole area felt like one big sore bruise (even though it was not colored purplish-blue like most). I scratched and it bled fairly easily where I got stung.
I re-applied another good dose of iodine. That was about two hours ago.
No more itching
No more heat
No more bruise-like pain or swelling
we have a ton of wasps on our property and we've never been stung. In fact, there's a tree, a scrub willow, that the paper wasps LOVE. When you stand under it it's like an electric tree with the hum of the wasps(eating leaves to make paper).
Only one person has been stung here, and he's kind of an evil guy...
I cried like a baby, but not getting stung. I was happy walking out that back door, singing and swaying my arms in a very silly way walking toward that gate where I KNEW where their nest was.
Nearing that gate was when I was stung. With those arms a-swinging and my body a-swaying and my voice singing high they probably thought I was some deranged nut out to get them! Poor little things.
I went back through the gate a little slower to get the iodine. I moved cautiously because I wanted to show them I was NOT a threat. I also wanted to jump right back on the scene to prove to myself I had nothing to fear.
However, hubby went and got some wasp killer.
I cried like a baby - my stupidity got them all killed.
