I watched all of the videos on Vitamin K2 on Barefoot's library so I decided to start supplementing it.
I don't get very much k at all since I have such a restricted diet, and haven't really in years.
Now, keep in mind that this product does contain a little soy because the vitamin k2 is derived from natto.
I took 100mcg the first couple days and felt pretty good. I took 200mcg the next couple days and felt even better. Some effects to note: increased energy between meals, and I mean allot of it, and a general sense of well being. Some bad effects were that my pancreas began to hurt a little bit (I can tell because it's behind the stomach and radiates to my back). I also began having more severe hypoglycemia episodes between meals.
I took 300mcg yesterday (it's supposed to be nontoxic even in mg amounts).
More effects: even HIGHER energy, almost nervous/jittery energy I haven't experienced in years. However, I also experienced worse hypoglycemia again.
Last night I dreamt that I was so hypoglycemic that my muscles quit working and I almost died (in the dream). I woke up and had the worst muscle cramps of my life too which indicates night hypoglycemia.
Then today. I took another dose and right around lunch time my blood sugar dropped severely. I mean to a point where it hadn't been since I first started having problems, and it took 2 hours or so to really alleviate, and even still I feel a little jittery.
My pancreas is in physical agony right now. It hurts very badly.
What do you guys think? Herxheimer/detox/healing crisis?
I noticed in my research that the pancreas is one of the organs that concentrates this vitamin the most.
Please post again as you proceed with this experiment. It is very interesting. It makes me wonder if I should be taking a little Vit. K for my pancreas; but preferably just under radar as I can't afford a full blown healing crisis with my current job.
