They are a big family; four kids and two adults. I have helped them earlier with enuresis on one of the kids, and they finally asked me to help all of them; starting point only a couple of months back.
I have had to find a system for my cases as I found out when I tried only 2-3 supplements it didnt work properly. So they are all on; Iodine, boron, magnesium malate, real salt (the adults mostly), selenium methionine, vit C and B, and zinc.
- more or less the Iodine protocol + boron and zinc.
All over the most noteable change are next to no days off from school or work (usually there would be one or two a week) they all say they have better energy; are able to do sports and work without being exhausted.
so I will start with the youngest one; a boy on 6 as he is mentioned in this post above.
His problem was enuresis and involuntary stool at daytime as well as bedwetting at night. A lot of ear problems and infections. Marked fluorosis on teeth. After 2 months he is fine at daytime; no accidents last weeks. Nightly bedwetting still on; next step is to up iodine from 2.5 to 5 drops + put him on magnesium ( the pills was to big, so he have not had enough of magnesium obviously ) Ears better, no infections.
Girl on 10; have had asthma since she was 4. Was starting to put on belly fat, asthma prevented her from much sport activity. Now; she is growing taller, belly fat going off (exactly the same happened to my own son!), no asthma medication needed lately. She is more active.
The other girl on 10 that was helped last year, is doing fine, no more enuresis, emotionally calmer, excema/dry spots almost gone.
The teenage girl on 16 was the last one to jump into the protocol; she has better energy, hopes to adress her dyxlesia after some time. School performance VERY good though. Weight coming off too, due to more excercise /energy.
The mother; some overweight, fluid retention, low energy, skin dry / cracs etc, typically hypothyroid; except for that she is warm/has hot flashes, hormonal stuff.
She says she is markedly warmer after iodine; hot flashes worse in the beginning (much worse) but her wedding ring is looser, energy better, skin better, nails much better.
She has had what she calls an emotional detox; old stuff coming up. Stuff that was never handled there and then; only buried for later. Very interesting as I believe that overweight has an emotional side to it; type swallow it, who cares, deal with it later.. so one builds up so to speak.
The last one; my brother is the thoughest case; with allergies, stuffed sinuses, polyps, no smell sensation at all, asthma, insomnia, marked adrenal fatigue, skin problem (looks like Vitiligo) etc. He has a lot of Amalgam which doesnt help much. Last year I tried to helped him with stuffed sinuses before his second polyp operation. I must admit I did not have the guts to put him on full iodine protocol; with all his problems + the flu vaccine in the middle of it. So he was given herbs and spices (pau darco, cayenne, licorice, turmeric) + a little iodine (2drops)and vitamin C. This was not a big success; but his recovery from operation was somewhat better from the first time.
This time he is more positive; 15 drops daily of Lugols plus the full protocol has caused him teenage acne on his forehead (bromide of course; right from the book, asthma meds contain bromide) LOL; at least something is happening!
He also has better energy and can take stress better (usually stress causes insomnia in him) This is a case that will take time; hopefully in a year or two I can report the big changes. His vitiligo is a little better, sleep ok.
Next step here is to nebulize with borax and a little H2O2 and get Amalgams out + let the iodine et al work for a while.
Diet was not very good all over in this family; no big changes are done yet, but they have stopped all light products (diet coke, sweeteners) and margarine + oils for frying. They use real butter now, period, and some coconut oil. More changes to be done, but one has to start some place.
Ps what I can see that fits right into the experience of other kids I have given iodine; they "know" / feels that iodine is a brain tonic. They want it.
I will have to disagree with you Trapper - my husband has extreme issues with Iodine.
Even 1 drop can cause a really bad reaction.
He had a lot of fillings (10 or more) which I talked him into replacing them with a competent dentist.
He has tried to take Iodine multiple times and each time he has an extreme mental issue with it. My husband is one of the most easy going individuals you will ever meet. He gets along with everyone, but each time he has started on iodine he becomes a different person. Iodine makes him feel like he is having a nervous breakdown.
We are talking about someone who had never had an uncomfortable day in his life until he took iodine. My Husband gets up when he feels like it – goes to work when he feels like it – makes a mint no matter what – Literally NEVER worries. And his life turns out Great. But Iodine just makes him crazy.
Because it has made such a major improvement in my life I keep thinking it could help any mercury issues he might have, but I think that it really effects us all SO differently.
Rainbowgirl, the story about your husband is so strange. I would suspect that those so-called "bad" conditions are but detox symptoms.
Remember, the more heavy metal and pathogens a person has in his body, usually the more serious will be the detox reaction. By analogy, the deeper a knife has penetrated into your body, the more painful it is to pull it out (but it does not follow that we should NEVER pull it out just because of the pain!!)
I would suggest that you carefully check your husband for any symptoms of Iodine deficiency (if you have not done so already). An easy-going attitude may only be a disguise to serious brain fog (your husband may have had so much trouble thinking clearly that he had no choice but to adopt that attitude). I am only suggesting this as a POSSIBILITY. Your husband's problem may be something else. Please examine him very carefully.
Thanks for the response Jam1, but my husband is SO far from Brain fog.
He has an Amazing brain, one that a lot of people envy.
If he could he would live on ocean foods, but ocean foods have become so polluted.
We live in a village in Montana currently and raise our own organic veg. and buy all organic meat, etc. We live off the land as much as possible. We fish every few days and raise almost all of our own foods. Our well water is artesian, and we live on a mountain so our air is amazingly pure.
If you look at my previous postings you will see that we come from an extremely large metropolitan area - lots of pollution - clorine - floride - bromide etc.
My Husband loves fish, kelp, and anything from the ocean and has had this in his diet constantly from a small child.
What I find interesting is that he can eat as much kelp, seafood etc. as he wants but can not take lugols, iodoral, etc.
We live our current life in Montana because we WANT to, our goal is to live off the land------ not because we HAVE to......
And even tho he has had a lot of exposure to mercury through his fillings, I don't want to encourage him to take more than a small amount of Iodine at a time if it makes him so uncomfortable.
I really envy your lifestyle! Being a environmentalist (but not studying the environment), I would pay ANYTHING to live in such an environment where I can co-exist with nature. I think all humans should abandon their mundane livestyles and live such natural lives. (I live in Hong Kong - a city beautiful on its face but is in fact so crowded that it is nearly impossible to maintain a living in)
Well, now it could be that your husband is already sufficient in iodine. If that is the case then it explains everything - those (including me) who finds Iodine "good" did so because they live in such polluted environment that inevitably the iodine reserve in their body is used up (for fighting pathogens and excreting heavy metal) before they knew about it, but people who live in such clean and natural environment are able to maintain an iodine reserve because they do not need to fight pathogens and heavy metal. Since the former is the majority, iodine is naturally commonly regarded as "good".
This was the reason for not putting my brother on the full protocol first time; I was afraid of to tough reactions. But then again I learned that there wasnt much gain that way either.
The toughest reactions on any of my cases was on a veteran from the gulf war. We almost gave up, but managed after several trials and errors to find the way in. In his particular case he needed more salt and vit c (very low adrenal function, barely any) he needed lots of magnesium (cramps, arrhytmia) B vitamins for his digestion..
by the way he claimed that the ratio of magnesium to selenium had a say in it. He also needed to avoid any calcium in his supplement; as it caused terrible kidney stone pains. When all these steps was done he started over again with iodine, titrating up one drop every second day, and can now tolerate up to 15-20 drops without much problem.
I will make a post about him in a month or two; but so far I can only say that if he manages to get well, everyone can.
Yes; the veterans I know are in a bad shape most of them.
They have to fight the government as well as their traumas; not much help to get after they have served their time. Loads of vaccinations, direct contact with harsh chemicals doesnt help much.
I am starting another veteran case very soon; so what can Iodine do to a damaged brain, painful sleepless body, traumatized mind, I dont know yet. We`ll see.
